Q: Cordless Dyson V12 shows only a 1Gallon capacity while cordless Dyson V8 shows a 14Gallon capacity, neither mention the actual engine size. Why does the smaller V8 hold more debris than the V12?

Q: How does this vacuum (Dyson V12) do with cleaning up kitty litter? Will it cause any damage to the vacuum if used regularily in rooms that may have kitty litter on carpet?

Love how light the vacuum is as I live in a three story townhouse. Just wish the cup was a bit larger for all the dog hair it sucks up. It is tight to take apart to empty and that is a hassle & an inconvenience. I am pleased with its overall performance.

This is the 3rd Dyson I have bought and I have loved them all. This is the first cordless vacuum I have bought from them and it’s fantastic! The suction is great, I have a small place so the battery is more than enough, it’s super easy to clean and quiet enough the cats don’t freak out. The attachments are super helpful. I love it!

Prior to buying my Dyson V12 I was using a broom, dustmop, or Swiffer to clean my hard surface flooring. The "light" feature on this unit showed me how much I was leaving behind. As a cat owner I discovered how much litter dust and hair I am missing. I used my Dyson with the crevice tool in my car today. So much easier than a shop vac. Wish I had bought a Dyson sooner.

Love our new vacuum! We had been suffering along with our failing V8 animal and finally upgraded. The push button, light weight and fluffy attachment are key features that made this upgrade SOOO worth the price. The laser on the fluffy attachment is everything! Obsessed with vacuuming now. You can see every spec of debris. Can even vacuum in the dark! lol. Suction and battery life are great. I can vacuum my entire house in one go with the fluffy attachment - hard floors. The only downside is the dust bin capacity. I have to empty that more frequently. But that was a trade off I made intentionally for the light weight, which is way more important to me.

I bought this as a replacement for v8. I like it but the big problem is emptying the bin: the hair gets stuck in the bin and I have to use my hands to pull it out. It was not like that with v8.

I generally like the vacuum, but two issues: 1.) The stick is not that easy to separate from the cannister. I find myself pushing the red button and having to pull pretty hard to separate it (when I want to empty the cannister, for example). 2.) The suction is not as strong as I would have imagined.

Bought a month or so ago for my 85 y.o. Mom after the Current Dyson we have got too heavy for her. It is extremely difficult to detach the wand from the bucket making changing attachments or simply emptying the bin impossible for her to do. Very light weight and nice not to have to hold down button but not useable for her.
