Awesome toy! Very easy to put together and provided a couple hours of play time first time out of the box. Now I judge a toys worth by time played with and this one definitely ranks well. Super interactive and my 5 year old even got a kick out of learning how a circuit works which is explained in the instructions. There is one vehicle that requires being charged by a charging station you also build and he loved charging the car (as he put it “like a gas station mom!”) and playing with the car until it ran out of power and charging it again. The only thing I was barely prepared for was the amount of batteries needed. This takes 9 AAA batteries I had just enough to cover that in the house. Other than that this was a top notch toy and I definitely recommend buying it. I plan on buying the other sets for Christmas.

We gave this to my son on Christmas Day. When we were putting it together, we found that one of the pieces had six of its slots filled with plastic from the manufacturing process. This makes it impossible to put the pieces together, so it turned out to be a disappointment on Christmas Day.

I got this for my son's Christmas gift. We just finally got to building it and I'm VERY disappointed especially considering the cost. The pieces don't fit well together and in general it could just be better for the cost. In addition the voice piece broke in less than 5 minutes of use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Circuit Explorer Kit is another excellent kit from Educational Insights. My 7 year old was able to put most of the kit together by herself, with a bit of instruction from me, in about 30 mins. We've tried a few other circuit kits and this one was good for younger kiddos. Beware this does take 9 AAA batteries that were not included in the kit. It does say this on the box, but in smaller print. Overall, we had a wonderful time putting this kit together and it took the perfect amount of time to assemble. My daughter tends to lose interest in the more complex circuit kits. Two small issues that didn't affect play: one of the robots had two "right" arms and the main circuit piece on one of the rovers was a different color than in the instructions. We figured that out quickly, but confusing at first.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fun building set that has you connect parts to get the lights working. It was easy assemble and they interlock nicely so they stay in place well. It does require 9 batteries which I did not expect but it is a fun learning toys set.

My 6 year old loves to use her imagination and build different things so I knew this rover set would be perfect for her! It is also a good way to introduce STEM skills to her in kindergarten and she is also learning fun things like how to build a circuit even at 6 years old! All of the pieces are durable and high quality and I love that these circuit explorer sets can be played with for years to come! The instructions are very easy to follow and although I had to help her a few times, overall she was able to create most of it all by herself! She was so proud of herself and I was too! She even built an obstacle course afterwards for the rover to drive through! We have been looking for fun and educational ways for her to keep learning after virtual kindergarten and these sets are perfect. This would be the best holiday gift, birthday gift and just to keep them busy learning and having fun toy! It keeps her occupied for HOURS! We can't wait to purchase more of these awesome sets. Highly recommend!

This set is so great because while it does have an intended way to be set up- since that's how the circuit works- it encourages creativity and lets kids make their own creations. Kids can then test those creations to see if they work, and trial and error until they get a working circuit. This set includes lights and motion, so kids can have a lot of fun playing even after they're done building. My six year old used this set to build a whole world in his imagination! This set and the other Circuit Explorers sets are great for introducing young kids to the concepts of circuits. *I received a discount on this set in order to test it out for this review. All opinions are my own.*

This is a fun starter set to encourage the concept of circuits. My 9 year old was able to read the instructions and figure it out on his own. He liked the challenge of putting it together. Great gift for the holidays.

We love that this Rover set allows kids to build it and use it and use it altogether or take pieces apart to serve their imagination as they play. The charging station is an extra cool way to teach children about different power sources. Anytime we can find a fun way to teach science and math concepts, we are all in. Great intro to circuitry and electricity in general. In addition to the academic side of things, it's a fun set for kids to use during pretend play. This would be an impressive gift for kids this holiday season. You'll need 9 AAA batteries for the set.

My 5 year old son loves this toy! He was able to put it all together on his own with very little direction from us (aside from putting in the batteries!) It has the plus of being educational while he is building and having fun. It lights up just enough to be fun but not overwhelming. Once we built the toys and learned about circuits, he can take it apart and rebuild it into all kinds of other cars. He played with it for hours after opening it, which is a win in my book! It goes great with the circuit explorer rocket and base station to create all kinds of fun set ups!
Stimulates creativity and engagement!

Starting with the little astronauts and robots all the way to the moving rovers, our 3 and 6 year old boys were so excited to build each part of the Circuit Explorer Rover set! We love that there is a manual to show examples of vehicles that can be made but this product is wonderful because it also allows for kids to create their own versions by extending and/or breaking apart different parts. Our kids were so astonished when they first saw the rovers move and light up. After a bit, our kids built an extended rover by joining the pieces together and were so excited about their new creation. This set even includes a charging station, which was a great way for the kids to see how a vehicle can be powered up electrically. The kids learned so much about making a circuit by learning how to match different parts of the set together.

This is the coolest building set!! The lights and motions are so gratifying once the kids figured out how to put the pieces to get the circuits right. Trial and error is part of the learning! This set is high quality and not cheap at all! Now that we are familiar and now fans of these, there are 2 other sets that I will purchase bc they all work together for my son to build more! One caveat: set requires a lot of AAA batteries so buy backups!
