[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was such a fun time with my oldest. It kept him busy for hours at a time. We enjoyed putting it together, trying out different codes and all the awesome things it had to offer. I can't wait to see my other two play with it when they're older!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so thankful this amazing company (educational insights who has so many cool products) sent me a free PYXEL pet code dog to try with my 8 and 15 year old. My family already owns a Zoomer kitty pet robot which was fun but got boring with the same few tricks. The new PYXEL we recieved has so many customize options from tricks, color and even eye shape! My kids favorite was the heart emotes. So many different options you can input, that we haven't even explored them all yet. It also has updates so they can add more stuff as time goes on. You don't have to have it connected to a device at all times. That's just the coding customizing part that my 15 year old uses and loves. You can then put up to 6 commands on the remote to use wherever so my 8 year old loves that part and is now getting more interested in the coding side of it. Giving my 15 year old the opportunity to learn then teach the basics to her sister. Making this one of those toys that has so many options with fun + learning. The instructions were clear and easy to understand with QR code links too. The volume on ours is really low but they made it easy to contact them with questions, I am sure it has a setting somewhere so I will ask the company team later if we don't find it. It comes with a few instructions, but the one on the white paper super helped when we thought ours had a broken leg. We were able to follow the instructions and then it was balanced properly. This seems to be a common issue with videos online on how to easily correct it. I am a homeschool parent so the coding option was super exciting for my whole family, especially now that we are heading into a more technologically advanced world. These are tools they could use later on in life and this toy gives them a headstart. I have even recommended this and the other products educational insights has to offer to my family, friends and neighbors. The price is really good for all the things it does , the updates do not cost money either.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fun educational toy for children. My child used Bloxy to code their Pyxel dog and we are having fun learning to code commands. I rated this product 4 stars because the initial set up was very confusing. The website on the included instructions no longer exists. So we got the Pyxel functioning by going to Educational Insight's website and following the video tutorials step by step. From there, it was very easy to understand and connect the Pyxel!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The concept is wonderful. Durability is great, doesn't feel cheap. My 10 year old son was so excited to receive this for review. He's had other coding toys previously but this one gave him the most frustration. Getting iy connected to wifi, then having to use a web page to complete the setup was challenging for him. Once connected it didn't want to stay connected for more than 3 minutes at a time. The actual coding process i think could be streamlined onto 1 page. I think that's where having an app instead of a web site would be beneficial. Also if your child is using a "kid" tablet this will not be compatible.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Between myself, my 2 year old, my 12 year old, & my husband, no one really enjoyed it. I guess if you're taking a coding class, or learning that specifically, then it would be neat. It's not something that would just be a toy.

Pyxel is quite interactive and is made extremely well. All of its different tricks are so cute and it glides seamlessly! The programs are easy to use even for a beginner

Fun toy. I love the various options for coding difficulty for it to "grow" with a user. This was a (used) gift from another educator and I greatly enjoyed playing with it, but it came to me with the front right leg out of place. My husband thinks it may need to be calibrated, but there are NO troubleshooting forums online. I love this little critter and plan to use it in my classroom, but I would really love to know how to fix his legs to help him move in all the correct ways. I cannot justify buying another one for this price at this time (especially if he breaks easily - which I do NOT know how he got broken nor how easily he got broken), but I might would consider it if money wasn't an issue or as a gift if my own children were younger. VERY cool toy. GREAT potential. Be careful with his legs because apparently they break and I haven't been able to figure out how to fix it yet. We have positioned it many times, but it doesn't cycle through most motions correctly no matter how we position it. Even with never having seen it work correctly, my husband, teenagers, and I enjoyed this "dog" and got some good laughs out of it's features and that our dog was mildly afraid of it. Also: One of the code options is "pee" which some parents may find crude, but we thought it was hilarious!
