EKO 50L Stainless Steel Motion Sensor Trash Can

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am absolutely in love with this motion sensor (hands free) trash can. Finally a trash can that works with me in the kitchen. It is quiet when opening and closing. It is made of sturdy material. The trash bags fit nicely. I could use this in several rooms of the home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The trash can in our kitchen was getting old and needed to be replaced. The old one had a cumbersome top that was supposed to tilt to allow you to throw things away, but it ended up getting in the way and getting dirty. This motion sensor trash can is an enormous upgrade from any trash can we have had. First of all, it looks nice in our kitchen. It is made out of stainless steel that is fingerprint resistent, making it look sleek and well-crafted. You don't have to lift the top off for every day use; there is a switch on the top cover that activates sensor mode. When it's in sensor mode, it responds to a hand wave and opens to allow you to throw trash away. A few seconds later, it will close automatically. This is brilliant. When I'm carrying my son around, I don't want to have to lift anything off the trash can; the sensor allows me to throw things away without a hassle. You can also use the trash can in manual mode by flipping the switch off. There is a silver tab on the top that you can push to open the trash can up. But we have it on sensor mode almost all the time because we love this feature. It opens and closes absolutely silently. Another thing we love about this trash can: you can't see the trash bag from the outside. Inside the trash can there are two handles that you can use to keep the trash bag in place. After you put the lid back on, you can't see the trash bag. It holds a regular 13 gallon bag, standard for kitchen trash cans. You do need to make sure to have six AA batteries. I'm very pleased with the design and the quality.

I normally hide my boring trashcan under my kitchen sick but not anymore. Very fancy and will not buy any average boring trash can anymore!

I didn't realize how much easier life is with the motion sensor feature cause I can just walk over with trash and don't need to move much for it to open, makes cleaning up a lot quicker!

I love the motion sensor feauture because you don't have to touch the lid. This trash can fits the stand bags perfectly. It also fits the corner wall of my kitchen nicely without marking up the walls .

It is very well designed and functions as described. The motion sensor is easy and works every time and the soft shut is perfect for my kids. I like that if my hands are full or I have dirty hands I don't have to touch anything to open the lid. This is much bigger than the trash can I replaced so I don't have to take the trash out so often. The bags always stay in place and hidden inside with the attachable piece on top, all in all a great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never owned an automatic can before, I mean what's wrong with having to manually open the lid? However, on a whim I decided to get the Phantom (which is the coolest name) and I'm am truly impressed. For starters, the stainless steel looks great and seems to resist prints. The size is pretty slim and compact, fits regular 13 gallon bags. There is a removable tray underneath in the case of a leaky trash bag. I think the sensor is just perfect, it's not too sensitive. I usually kind of move my hand about 5-8 inches in front of the sensor, just before I want it to open. It does open sometimes when walking by it but it does it quietly. The open and close wording on the lid are also touch buttons, where you can manually open and close. I have absolutely no complaints at all. If for any reason you don't want it to work automatically, the on/off switch is under the lid and you can turn the can around to face a wall. It has a digital dots "countdown" on the lid until it closes, 5 seconds. Not having to touch the lid is great when your hands are dirty, wet and overall keeps the lid of the can cleaner. I think the best feature of all is that it's made my kids want to pick up. No joke, this thing has been motioned to open a billion times. The doors are surely durable. There are no longer random scraps of paper, old homework or snack wrappers lying around the house. My youngest especially, just loves to see this can open up. It's almost as good to her as other kids opening toys on the tube. I think I'm going to put one in every room. While I know the newness will wear off eventually, I'll enjoy it for now.

I would definitely get another one for myself for the office. Make sure you put a good set of batteries to get the full quality of the product.

ITs sleek and very functional in a home or work space. My favorite feature is the removable lip that holds the trash bag in place so you never have scoop the bag up from the bottom of the can!

I have three dogs and 2 kids so I needed something that would hold up. This trash can is very durable so far and is actual metal. It makes it easy to wipe off and can handle multiple dings and hits from toddlers and dogs. The sensor is amazing for when your hands are full and you do not want to get the lid all dirty. I am able to quickly throw something away and it will even close on its own because it has a timer. However, if you need it open you can push the open button for it to stay open until you push the close button. I have noticed it keeps the smell contained and the metal does not hold onto the smell like plastic. It fits a standard trash bag.

It fits perfect in the slot in my kitchen and its stainless steel body and black lid match my kitchen perfectly. I love the motion sensor top that I can use by just waving my hand in front or use it manually. It keeps the trash smell in and keeps my trash can from overflowing in sight. I love that it has a fingerprint resistant coating and it is easy to wipe down. It is a great size trash can and holds alot. Overall this trashcan is very functional and keeps my kids from digging in the trash, its sleek and slender, modern, very appealing in the kitchen and keeps you the smell of trash out of your kitchen.

This is exactly what my house needed. The open from the top design makes it to where they are not able to get to the trash. This trash can has a really nice stainless steel look to it and makes our kitchen look much better. If you are a pet owner I highly recommend upgrading your trash can to this model.
