Q: I am having difficulty taking the lid off. Is there a secret to it. I have put leftovers in it and wanted to heat them up in the microwave but couldn't take the lid off.

I love the size and the how the lid adds extra room to shake dressing onto a salad. However, if you put anything that is even a little warm in this container and close the lid, the lid is incredibly difficult to remove.

It’s cute, and doesn’t look like anyone else’s in the break room fridge. However. I can never get the dang thing open and always need some assistance. It’s super frustrating when you’re hungry. I’ve stopped bringing it to work all together due to that alone. Don’t buy.

This container is perfect for taking a salad for lunch at work. It has the right depth and it is airtight. Warning though: don’t make the mistake that I did by putting it in the microwave with the lid loose but lined up. That lid became “vacuum sealed “ and the container absolutely couldn’t not be opened. Heat your food with the lid askew!

I'm really surprised at the bad reviews. I've bought several of these and bought some for my mom as well. The lid does vacuum seal, but all I have ever had to do is break the seal at the corner and it pops off (and I'm pretty weak lol). Ello is my favorite storage bc it keeps such a good seal. I probably have 25+ Ello products. The only bad thing I got was the salad container with a lid that wouldn't seal and I was able to get a refund. I had a different container where the gasket came off and I wrote custom service and they sent me a new one for free.
Once closed-never to be opened again.

The gasket provides an incredible seal around the lid. The problem, is that it's too good. Trying to open it, whether at lunchtime or at the end of the day to wash it, becomes a wrestling match. This is because the suction is incredible and there's no way to put downward pressure on the bowl, while putting upward pressure on the lid.
11/10 recommend, perfect!

I write this review as I stand annoyed with how this bowl is made! I like the collection but this particular one, the lid gets stuck to it all the time. There needs to be a piece on the bowl to hold down while pulling up on the other piece!

Absolutely love everything ELLO. Very comfortable, easy and durable. This seals very well so if you store soup, these work great. There are a lot of reviews saying they cannot open their containers. The only time I have ever had issues with them suctioning shut is when I shut the container with HOT food. The containers are not meant to be microwaved with the lid on either. The packaging itself advises that lid needs to be off. I’ve had majority of mine since 2019 and have no complaints at all.

Persuaded lots of people to buy this. Spacious, silicone keeps your hands from burning. All reviews mention lid, while i've had mine get stuck a few times - it was always solved. You have to pull the right area on the EDGE of the lid to get it to open. It's equally a given that if microwaving it - never secure the lid closed and leave it on top at the very least.
