Great tent, loud in wind

The tent is a great size for my girlfriend and I to have more relaxed camping trips and have plenty of space to walk even with queen sized air mattress. In the wind it is super loud and the rain cover blows around a ton which is expected, camped with this in the outer banks and the hooks didn’t stay in the and well either.

I broke a pole when I setting it up at home to clean the tent out after a camping trip. I contacted Eureka and they sent me a new pole for free no questions asked. The braking of the pole was my own fault and not a result of using the product as intended. However I wish the poles were a little more sturdy.

Upgraded from a 4 person tent to this 6 person Eureka Copper Canyon tent after having a baby because we wanted to take her camping with us. This tent is very roomy. We were unfortunate to have very heavy rain, but we were kept completely dry. My husband is 6'6 tall and he is able to stand up in it. This tent is easy to set up and take down. I highly recommend purchasing the foot print that fits it as well.

I purchased a 12x12 Copper Canyon 8 years ago and camp in it an average of 2 times a month plus camping at IMSA race venues. This tent has always remained dry during some serious rain storms and has remained structurally sound. I still own a 4 person Timberline tent that I purchased in 1988 and it still provides great sheltering and retains it's waterproof qualities. Excellent products!

I love the Copper Canyon LX 6. My opinion: the size, ease of setup, features, quality of materials and construction make this a great value. The combination of sleeved poles for the roof and clipped poles for the corners of the walls works well. I am fan of and prefer clips, but in this application the sleeves for the roof makes one person setup without a step stool possible. The light gray fabric for the upper portions of the walls provides both a pleasing and plentiful ambient light in the daytime, which I like. I like the clip secured windows. They have good overlap with the solid fabric walls and a bottom edge that is sewn to channel and drain rainwater. There are many interior rings for hang items, and includes four at corners of the floor for securing a liner/mat/carpet. I found that the rainfly to pole velcro tabs is a huge help for getting it placed over the top of the tent. Rather than trying to throw it over the top, which I have hard time doing, I focus on getting one corner vecrod in place and then work my way around the tent securing subsequent corners the same way. The fly slides nicely over the top making installation quick and absent the struggle that typically comes with battling gusts of wind.

After 48 hours of straight downpour the tent was bone dry. What a testament of function and quality. Its definitely a late spring, summer, early fall temperature construction. We use two large cots and there’s so much additional room. Gear lofts are fine in the ceiling but additional lofts can be purchased and strung on the sides if wanted (which is what we did). The door definitely requires a two-handed operation it’s so tightly configured. You must relieve the stress on the zipper. Beware, a one handed brute force approach is going to damage the zipper. Takes some patience but then again tent people have more of that virtue than the glamping crowd to begin with! The ventilation that is capable with this tent is extraordinary. No more blazing hot tent in the summer. The integrated guy tie-outs at the corners of the fly is simply brilliant and extremely strong. Have not had the luxury of a genuine wind storm to test this but i’ll conjecture this tent will be unaffected by gale forces. The ‘bottom’ roof pole MUST be inserted first; then the top roof pole and install its legs first. That’s all the procedure requires to eliminate problems. What a great tent for a small family but beware the cautionary note with the zipper. Small children are not patient with most everything.

So after having an Eddie Baur tent for 20 years we needed a new one. My husband came across this tent. And let me tell you it didn't disappoint. So easy to set up. The windows are huge! Watched a meteor show while laying in bed!! Loved how my husband who is 6.3 could stand up and still have room to move around. We are planning on buying the 4 person one for our daughter.

Bought this last summer. The headroom is nice and it has great ventilation for hot weather. The multiple windows also reduce wind pressure. But we get cold nights even in summer and it seemed to airy for that. We were fine at 3000' but It would be too cold higher up so we bought a different tent with zippered windows. Both tents have the setup with roof piles that get raised up on side poles. Seems like the logical thing for a tall tent but not that easy to assemble even with two people. Once it's up it's fine.
Setting up in the rain

I’m very disappointed in the new design of the fly. Nothing to keep the rain out as setting up. Great for beautiful weather and great airflow not so great with bad weather. The poles are very thin and I was afraid it was going to snap with the weight of the rain.

Our troop has owned many of the copper canyon tents (the previous version). We purchased and returned this model. The side windows don't have zipper closures, so when it rains and it's windy, the wind/rain blows in. Charge more and add the zippers back. Now, I've got to shop for another tent as we replace our inventory.

Thank you for taking the time out to leave your opinion and for being such a loyal Eureka customer! I am sorry that the new version of the Copper Canyon LX 6 does not meet your needs. I will relay your feed-back to our design team. If you are looking for a tent to use in the heavier weather, my recommendation would be to check out the Space Camp 6. This model offers a full coverage rain fly.

First, I have the older “orange” version of the Copper Canyon tent. This model looks about the same, just with some upgrades like the entrance overhang. I cannot emphasize enough how fantastic this tent is for car camping. I’ve had it for eight years, used it in every New England state, along with West Virginia and Virginia. I use a 10 x 10 tarp under it and it gets a new coating of rainproofing once a year but otherwise, I have not babied it and it’s still going strong. It’s been through numerous rainstorms and strong winds. Roomy enough to hold 3 cots and gear comfortably. Love the giant “windows” and the easy 6-pole design. This thing goes up in 10-15 minutes. I know I can count on it.
Over 60 nights of use + many more to go!

We’ve had this tent since spring 20’ and wanted to make sure we got used to it before reviewing! LOVE it, family of six and can fit 2queen and 1single air mattress. Most of the time it’s only 2queens in there. (When we have my bonus dtgr, we use the single too) lots of room and excellent quality. We’ve had nights of heavy rain and hail and absolutely no issues. (Use the line ties, and tighten the window covers.) Also, we use a 8x10tarp for the bottom. And camping rugs in the inside to protect the bottoms, but I always do. Only issue is that when you have the door screen unzipped and try going in out with the door - you need to use both hands to zip/unzip. one holding zipper and another holding seam. If not the zipper goes of the zip. I find that if I keep the inside screen closed, it zips up easy. It seems that if the door window is open makes the door screen not so tight and makes zipper weak. Easy setup with 2 adults or sometimes it’s me and the kiddos, In those instances I just have one holding the opposite pole while I connect the poles. But we can easily setup with stakes in the ground under 20mins. We expect to get a few years of use in this tent. Tempted to order the 8p but also getting to the point in our family, that our older boys can sleep in a small tent and 4 of us can use the Canyon 6. great for a family of 6 but can easily be super comfy for a family of 4. No regrets, and absolutely worth the money.

I actually have the Copper Canyon tent, the copper colored one with the old style fly. I used it last summer for a 2 week trip. And I used it this winter for two weeks in Jupiter, FL and 2 weeks in Stuart on the St. Lucie canal. Its roomy, stable in somewhat strong winds, zippers work well despite what people say. Its a tent folks, and there is a weather flap. Run your finger between the zipper and flap and no problem. The seams and fly were water proof. What I don't like. The little stuff pockets. I'm short. They are hard to get things in and out of as they are up high and tight! My Coleman had a couple of gear pockets down low. VERY handy at night for phone, flashlight, water bottle. Eureka needs to correct this. The other issue is the roof poles are fiberglass. I was in heavy winds on the canal. One section in each pole split. The tent stayed up, but cockeyed for the rest of the night, pure luck I think. For that price they ought to have aluminum roof poles or have replacements in stock. The customer service is very responsive but was told poles would not be available until August! Its March!

Only one window on this tent zips shut, the one on the door, the other 3 windows you close with toggles and in high winds with rain ? your going to get wet because, the windows don’t zip shut ! and the tent fly does not adequately cover the 3 windows without zipper closures.

I bought this tent for my daughter for Christmas. We are a tent camping family. I was given a Eureka EquiDome six person tent for my birthday over 15 years ago. My daughter has been using this same tent on camping excursions with her friends. On a recent camping trip she encountered a family camping on an adjacent site with the Copper Canyon LX6 person tent. She fell in love with it! It was late summer and the end of my daughter’s camping adventures. Since her birthday had already gone by and Christmas on the horizon I thought “what a perfect gift-the Copper Canyon LX6 person tent.” It was a hit! Now just have to wait for the first time to put it to the test. Based on our history with the Eureka 6 peroson EquiDome I’m sure she won’t be disappointed. We will update this review after her first adventure with her new tent this summer. Stay tuned!

Love the height of this tent. Easy to get in and out of. One of the hooks came broken but we will make do. We did one practice time putting it up in our back yard. Going camping in two weeks. Can't wait.

Love this tent, very well made. Large footprint is great for our family of 3, and tall roof makes it easy to move around and be comfortable. We camp with an inflatable queen sized airbed with headrest in this thing and still have plenty of room to spare for everything else and for our toddler to play in. Very airy with the large windows. Was initially concerned about lack of zippers for the windows, but we like it a lot. Lots of adjustability to open to level you want, and easy to open/close at night without being loud. Wouldn't recommend for cold weather camping given its design, but that's not what it's meant for in the first place. First few times was a bit challenging getting it set up, but now I can get it all done by myself within 5 minutes.

I bought this tent for my husband as a father's day gift, so far we have used it a couple of times and it has been great! It has a lot of space, very resistant and can hold heavy rain without issues. The set up is surprisingly easy and fast, a single person can set it up in about 10 minutes. No bugs can come inside and the views you can get from inside are amaizing, definitely happy with my purchase!
