Enjoy hands-on fun with the FAO Schwarz Pottery Wheel Studio. Use the spinning wheel to explore your creativity and create containers, cups, creatures, and anything else you can imagine. Switch between left-handed and right-handed modes to ensure any user is comfortable when operating the pottery wheel. A: This is designed for kids to be able to use and make clay pottery. It is smaller than a professional pottery wheel but will still work for sculpting clay. Thank you

A: Yes, the spinning platform on the pottery wheel can be lifted off for cleaning. While detailed cleaning instructions are included in the manual, we recommend wiping the platform with a damp sponge or cloth. Also, do not submerge the pottery wheel in water when cleaning. Thank you

Should have expected this, but the motor is not strong enough to keep turning once you put your hands on the clay. And the clay is nowhere near wet enough. Kids are ‘pretending’ but will need to build with their hands to make anything.

Doesn’t have enough power. Barely touch the clay and it will stop. Nicely designed, but they cheaped out on the motor to the point where it’s not even functional as a pottery wheel. You could use it as a painting turntable, that’s it.

I don't think anyone who made the product actually ever tested it. The motor is so weak that any pressure applied to the clay will stop the motor. Basically it doesn't work and it's not even close. Even the promotional video shows a bizarre, but hilarious off-center clay cup. I mean, really! For anyone that's used a pottery wheel, like, at camp or something, this thing is a joke.

The wheel doesn’t have enough power for you to put any pressure on the clay. Basically unusable- ended up just working the clay by hand

Very difficult to work with, the wheel barely has power, instructions are not so great. Received as a Christmas gift for an 11 year old and the box says 6+. No clue how a 6 year old would do it. Would not recommend.

It is very sturdy and come with enough clay to make tons of projects. Set up was very easy and it was very easy to clean. The pedal makes it super easy for kids and it’s not loud at all.

We were able to make one item. It was barely strong enough. As a parent I had to start it off and manipulate the clay. This is not for a child. Then when we went to try for another clay piece it wouldn’t spin. The motor is so slow. It ended up just not working at all anymore.

This is so much better than I ever expected - it works really well, and my 7 year old had a great time making his first ever wheel projects. Even I had fun using it myself! The cleanup is fairly easy as well. You can either plug it in or use batteries, which I like having the option. Overall a really fun toy!

For being a “toy” the wheel is durable and will be a good beginner wheel for a child who may be interested in pottery. Super easy to set up and clean. It can be used with batteries or a power cord.
