Breaks after few times

I bought this during the holidays to gift to my nephew (overseas) who's development is slow. It fit so compact in carry-on. We got this to encourage him to walk or dance. Did not need any complicated installation. My nephew(3 yo) loves this mat and motivates him for standing/ walking. This is not only fun for kids but a really good exercise and offers learning.

I bought two and only one of them worked. The broken one didn’t last minutes and started to do crazy beeping and buzzed only on certain things. Unfortunately I can’t get a replacement because it’s sold out. I would’ve rated it one star but gave 2 because there is one working mat.

Broke immediately. The children were able to wake up and see the beautiful piano I'm front of the tree but unfortunately didn't last a day. Returned next day.

My toddler loves it. It is really compact and light-weighted. The tunes are pretty nice and the keys are responsive. I enjoy playing this with my toddler.

My boys, ages six and eleven, love this! Hours of fun!

There are several different styles of music you can chose (EDM, hip-hop, pop, Latin or rock). You can add in instruments (piano, kick drum, snare drum, cymbal or hi-hat) or sayings like "make some noise" or pump up the volume" and the turn tables add a scratch effect. The volume can be easily turned up or down and can all be recorded. I would recommend this toy, its super fun.

They use the keyboard, the sound effects, and the scratch pads to create their own mixes. They love the fact that the mat has a recording feature. It’s very fun and entertaining for them to create their own music, and show it off to the family. Hours of fun and a great way to spark creativity. Highly recommend!!

My 3 year old is obsessed with musical instruments right now, so at first I thought she would like this just for messing around. Then my 6 year old started fighting with her about it. Then I started fighting with them to get off so I could get on it! Just kidding on that part, but seriously- both of my kids have so much fun and I love watching what thru come up with! There are several different features and the keyboard, plus DJ scratch pads. You can play a range of music styles and the best part is you can record your creation and sing along! Perfect for the little one that is musically inclined or has lots of energy to hop around on the mat (wait, did I just find the secret weapon for wearing out the kiddos before bed...???). Anyway, this thing is pretty darn cool! I would highly recommend and won't tell if you (the adult of the house) are really buying it for yourself.:-)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So if you’re looking for the Big (movie) roll-out piano from the toy store (that played “Heart & Soul”), this ain’t it. But if you’re looking for a fun mat that your small children will stomp on to no end, making vaguely musical, yet atonal, and percussive soundtracks, while you watch another rerun of ncis and wonder “how long do those batteries last, anyway?”(spoiler alert: forever).... then this is the perfect toy for you. I do not consider myself dumb by any means, but besides the obvious piano keys, I absolutely could not figure out how to make the thing function in any organized fashion. There are some background beats that you can start with (in different musical styles) and then play the piano keys over; however, whereas the pre-recorded ditties have a clear chord progression, the piano keys don’t do anything to change the pitches of the chords. So you have your piano in C only, but the rhythms are in some other key altogether. Even the cheapest of electric keyboards I’ve owned have modulated the pitch when you play with a background rhythm. Ok, so what you end up with is two features that don’t jive together on the same toy. Other features: The record “scratchers.” Your instinct with these is to sort of make a scratching motion with your foot. But it’s actually a stomp to make the scratch sound. Two of the four drum buttons make identical sounds. I could not for the life of me figure out the layering section. Anyway, like I said, kids will have an awesome time make cacophony for hours, and getting some exercise to boot. Just don’t try to make sense of it if you’re a musician.

It gets them moving and they have so much fun making music. They can play more than just with a piano, my son likes to make beats with the DJ part.

The FAO Schwarz - Toy Music Mat DJ Mixer is the perfect music making toy for young boys, the box is very well designed, and very well detailed, easy to take out the box and assembly, love that it has an on and off switch, its loud, easy to make and record own tone, love that it has a key board like a piano. Its a perfect toys and absolutely love it.

My granddaughter spends hours playing with this. Both of my great grandsons go to it immediately upon arrival. It has held up extremely well with much activity from 3 kids. It is easy to wipe down as needed. Very simple to store. It has provided many hours of musical enjoyment and imagination.

I wasn't sure of he would he too old to beable to enjoy it, but he has proven to me how definitely is not with the smiles and giggles. This is a great product.
