This straining saucepan is dishwasher safe and oven safe to 350 degrees F, and it makes an excellent companion piece to any Farberware collections cookware set. Q: The Farberware pan I am replacing says "18/10 Stainless Steel" on the bottom but this pan appears to say "Durable Stainless Steel." Is this pan made of 18/10 stainless steel or something cheaper?

submitted by roberto92252 - 3 years ago
  • A: You didn't finish your sentence: "While your pan is completely stainless steel, the content of nickel makes...." (makes what??) This is why so many people are marking this answer as "not helpful"

submitted byLinda - 2 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your inquiry. 18/10 refers to the amount of chromium and nickel present in stainless steel. The biggest benefit of choosing 18/10 stainless steel is that it is long-lasting and has a sturdy feel to it. While your pan is completely stainless steel, the content of nickel makes. We hope this information is helpful.

Q: Is the pot handle heat resistance, I need to know because I have an old one, and I can barely hold it when I boil water, I want to make sure the construction of this one is better than the old one.

submitted by Sandy - 1 year ago
  • A: Thanks for reaching out Sandy in regards to the Farberware Classic 1qt Covered Straining Saucepan. While all handles can get hot (depending on the heat settings used), it is important to note that everyone will have different sensitivities and tolerances for heat. With any handle material, we do state that it is recommended to use pot holders as a precaution. We hope this information is helpful.

I bought this pot to replace a Farberware pot I’d had for 34 years. I love the size of this pot and have trusted Faberware for my whole life. My mom has and still uses the Faberware pots and pans she received as a shower gift before she was married 58 years ago. I love the spout on the side, a new feature to my original one.

Stainless steel pot is sturdy but lid with black knob is kinda cheap. The knob is wobbly and loose, I fear it will break off eventually

I love my saucepan with straining lid for cooking hot cereal. Less chance of it boiling over. It’s also great for straining off liquid easily. I have a small Farberware cookset that I’ve used for over 50 years. My new pot is a great addition.

The 1qt pan is a replacement for another pan I've had so long the handle fell off. I am a maple syrup candy maker and use this pan often. Can't wait for the new pan with the thicker handle. Better for my old hands.

    Saucepan with straining lid

Bought this pan about 1 month ago. It's a cute little pan. However, by using it, the kind of thin and weird shape of the handle does not make it feel comfortable holding the pan. Why doesn't it have a somewhat straighter and thicker handle like most other Faberware pans ? For that reason I would not buy it again.

Tableware is the best. My husband bought this in US and we have used over 47 years and still do!!! The only reason I had to discard some was because domestics used it on high fire with nothing in it! If you care well it will last a lifetime and more! Just placing order for selected pieces that I have lost

    Handle Burns

What happened to the quality of Farberware? My mother's collection from 1965 is still in great condition. The pot I bought in August 2024 has had the handle burn twice. Once on an electric range and once on gas range. The fumes are toxic making us feel nauseated and this is very dangerous. Both were cooked on a low and slow flame.

I received a one-quart Farberware saucepan with straining lid for Christmas 2024. After using it twice, the inside bottom of the pan is showing brown markings. It is not the quality of an older saucepan I have.

I have owned Farberware cookware for many years, but decided I needed an additional saucepan. I chose the 3 quart saucepan with the pouring spouts. It's so easy to use! When I make small amounts of pasta, I don't have to bring out my colander to drain the water! I love this saucepan! Definitely recommend buying it!!
