Q: do score card come with this game?
submitted by mkf - 9 months ago
A: Hello and thank you for reaching out. The game does not include a scorecard. I hope this helps and have a great day!

Q: how many can play at one time
submitted by bookworm4 - 7 years ago
A: Instructions say you can play a full game with up to 8 people. (However, I played once with 10 people knowing that we didn't have enough time to play to the last round anyway. So, we only played up to the 10s round with 10 cards in our hands. That worked fine too.)

Old style was better quality and easier on the eyes. New style is cheap looking and smaller size cards and print. Plus the ad is misleading because it shows the old card style. Very Disappointed!!

I love learning new (better) versions of games! This is similar to rummy, which was always one of my favorite card games growing up. It’s easy to pick up, and super fun to play! We were unsure of one part that wasn’t in the instructions, which is.. are we able to play off the cards in which we already played a run or book that are on the table. I know you can’t play off other peoples cards, which makes me think we can play off our own cards on a different turn. Anyway.. we had a blast and this will definitely be added into our family game rotation!

This is a great rummy game with a twist. There are rounds and the amount of cards you get goes up each round. Every round there is a different wild card (the card with the same number as the round). It’s simple and addicting. Even though it’s simple there is plenty of organizing and puzzling so you can go out and avoid getting points. This game is a great time for families and groups.

We received this item in exchange for a fair review. We played this game with our 9 and 10 year olds as part of our family game night. The directions took some time getting through, and we had to revert back to them a couple times. Once we got the hang of it, the game was fun initially but once we got to 7 card matches, our kids started losing interest. Our 9 year old had some trouble remembering the types of matches she could make, so I think this game might do better with an older crowd. Maybe older children, or even a game night with friends. Something we may bring along the next time we attend a weekday game night with our friends as an option to play. The pace was a little slow, and I think that might have been the issue with our kids keeping interest.

I received this item in exchange for a review. This family isn’t really a rummy playing family. But we had fun playing this game. We enjoyed the new graphics. This game will certainly be added to our card playing games.

As a mom and teacher I've always loved the games from SET family games. I first learned about their games at a national gifted student conference. We added Five Crowns to our recent game night rotation. Players were ranging from 8 to grandma with everyone having fun. The game play is easy to learn and complexity builds as you go. Holding the cards and remembering which card is wild was as hard as it got, but the base objectives of the game stayed the same, making it easy for everyone to remember how to play. Going out first was exciting for that person, but having the chance to still drop points added fun and surprise for everyone! Kids are already asking when we can play this one again. I love that it is small and easy to transport for upcoming trips.

We played this at our Boy Scout troop game night. They liked it enough to decide to bring it to the camp out this weekend. There were 4 players that were middle school age. Nobody had played a game with 5 suits before but the directions were clear and they were able to pick it up easily. It was fun. And we used the coordinating score pad to make it even easier

Very good game that had easy to understand rules for quick play start. Easy to socialize and chat during play. Rummy but more fun. You do need some extra time to play because of how many rounds of play. Love the rotating wild mechanic rule to keep your brain engaged in the game.

Five Crowns was quick to pick up and get started. Easy to learn; simple rules but gameplay reveals strategic depth. The first three rounds can be challenging to go out. Quickly became competitive. Attractive card art.

Our family really enjoyed this game. It is very easy to learn and didn’t get boring at all. The suits are distinguishable and brightly colored. We highly recommend buying this game for your next game night.

I received this product in exchange for an honest review. We recently used Five Crowns as part of our family game day. Nobody in our group had played the game before which made it a little tricky for the first few rounds. Once we figured it out it was easy to play and quite enjoyable. This is a card came that is played in rounds. Each round goes until someone is able to go out and then everyone else gets one more turn to minimize the points in their hands. The first round is dealt with three cards and each subsequent round has and additional card until you get to 13. The goal is to have the least amount of points at the end of all the rounds. This may be a little trick for the younger age range. My 9-year-old needed help to figure this game out, but I think after a few times playing it she will get it.

I love rummy style games so I was excited to share this with family for a family game night. I like that it can be shortened - or paused and picked back up at a later time - which was nice if something came up. Each round went fairly quickly, at least initially. And it was a fun game of almost luck. We really enjoyed it - and also enjoyed the straight forward directions.

Game brunch with the girls! Tricky to pick up on at first but we started to get serious in the 5s and 6s. Will definitely have to play more to really get the hang of it. Dedicate some time for this one!
