The soup cannot be vacuum-sealed when it is in a liquid form, that is why we recommend freezing the soup in a container first to solidify it before vacuum sealing. Q: Can it seal wet items, like soup?

A: Hello You can't vacuum seal a soup while it's still a liquid. The way you get around all this is to freeze the soup first and then vacuum seal it. Put the soup or stew in a container and put it in the freezer .Once that soup is frozen, take it out of the freezer and move it into a vacuum seal bag. With a solid substance, you'll be able to tightly vacuum seal that soup without flooding your drip tray. It's the easiest way to save tasty stew for a rainy day or even some fresh veggies you've diced. Worked to vacuum and seal literally ONE time. Second bag no air removed. No liquid or food causing issues. Unit was perfectly clean and nothing blocked the vacuum hole. Tried with generic bag roll as well as with the name brand included in the box. Now I get to spend my Saturday driving back to target- 30 miles away- to return this lemon and then try to find another sealer somewhere else before my food spoils or freezer burns. Won’t be purchasing another Food Saver brand product.

Vacuum seal them for a long time I marinated some chiken legs for 3 days before grilling them and it worked great fast and easy to use and easy to clean also the price it's right for a Vacuum sealer after all done eating I Vacuum seal the left overs shredded the chicken for tacos so it's pretty nice machine I'm glad I got it I can also shop up fruit for my kids and seal it for when ever they are ready to eat it it's very nice and worth the price

The vacuum part works great. This device successfully seals exactly 18.75% of the attempted tries. This item should not be sold at all.

However I needed to give this product a try. This is exactly what I needed. It is a very quick seal and the vacuum suction was the same. I didn’t even think twice to toss my old one. This is what I should have had a long time ago. Thank you for sending me this product. It is definitely worth purchasing if you ever need a good vacuum sealer.

The problem is it’s big and I already have other machines on my counters. So the food saver goes into a cabinet for storage the problem with that it won’t get used as often as it should. It’s a good product and works well for the reason you need it it just becomes one extra product in your cabinet you forget about.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very easy to use. It is very easy to make your own sealed bags. The only thing I don’t like about it is the vacuum performance. It does the vacuums for few mins then it says it will automatically seal but once goes to sealing you can feel the bag has little bit of air. It was not fully vacuumed but it still works. I don’t think it is good for meat though.

It is in oat milk color so it can go with any kitchen decor if you leave it out. With the high cost of food nowadays I jumped at the chance to make it last longer. It is going to take some practice to be able to get a straight seal but it works fast and easy. I also can’t wait to prep some dishes ahead and have a way to make it last longer in the freezer to grab and go on a busy night. I was very skeptical at first since I’ve never owned one on thing I will tell you is that I marinated chicken and meat for Fourth of July. It came out super flavorful, I didn’t know what of a difference it would make. This is a great food save fyi you can buy special tubs on the side to save other things. This would make a great gift for new homeowners

Very fast and easy to portion frozen items. I’ve only tried on meats & fish but I would think it would be nice to use for fruits for smoothies or bread. It has a dry/moist button which you can change between to vacuum any moisture out before it seals and the drain is easy to clean. The storing option is nice to have it locked as I keep this in a high cupboard & would be a pain to have it open when trying to reach it down.

I had to go to YouTube to find directions on how to use it. Once figured out I'm sure it would be very useful especially since I've been wanting one.

I was throwing away so much food in the past since I could never consume what I bought in time, especially produce. Meat was even worst because ziplock bags don't prevent freezer burn aftertaste! Decided to try this out and it's been working great. Extremely simple to operate, compact, and uses any vacuum seal bag. All you have to do is seal one end of the bag, place whatever in it, then pump away. I've used it for almost everything so far: left over meat, dry goods, hard root veggies, beans etc. The best part of owning this sealer is that I can buy big packages of meat and divided. Must have for everyone!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like to use this so I can buy family packs and freeze them in smaller portions. It works great and saves both raw meat and cooked meat. I like taking fresh smoked brisket, slice it and vacuum seal it for later. Just thaw the cooked product and then put the whole bag into sub boiling water for about 20-30 minutes and serve. Still moist just like you made it an hour ago. Highly recommended.

This product is necessary for me because I cook and meal prep, this is great for having extra meals on hand and to extend the life of fruits and veggies via vaccuum sealing. I didn't find I complicated to use. They also send you some bags. There is a dry or moist function, so if you want to seal up some soup you can. If you want to seal up veggies, you can also do that. You can even use the seal function itself for any bag (like potato chips) that need to be resealed. You just don't want to overfill the bags or have too much moisture (if using the dry function) They also send an attachment for sealing meal prep containers/jars with the seal function. Like I said, this is a must if you cook and don't want to throw away money from spoiled food. I highly recommend it!!! I use mine weekly.

We have had so much food waste lately that I decided it was time to just go ahead and give it a try. The owner's manual was really easy to understand and covered all the basics so I was able to get started quickly. Sealing the food was much faster and simpler than I imagined. Since I started using the FoodSaver, we have had absolutely nothing go bad before we could cook it, which is a major win! The owner's manual also includes some really good ideas for non-food related ways to use inside the FoodSaver, all of which were useful and really smart. I really appreciate the compact size of the FoodSaver Everyday. My kitchen isn't huge and the smaller size is really nice for the space I have. If you've been on the fence about trying a FoodSaver, give this one a try! It really couldn't be easier and you'll end up saving money/wasting less.
