Description
This Frigidaire freestanding portable ice maker makes 26lbs of ice per day. Never run to the store for a bag of ice again. Convenient, compact design is ideal for use in small kitchens and other compact spaces like RV's, boats, dorm rooms and more. This portable ice maker requires no installation - just plug it in, add water, and in less than 7 minutes you can enjoy fresh ice. Holds up to 1.5lbs of ice in the interior basket. Important: this ice maker is designed to produce ice, not store it. The unit does not keep ice freeze once it is made. To prevent melting, transfer the ice to your freezer promptly after it is produced. Will compliment any decor. Maintain optimal performance by cleaning your ice maker weekly to prevent scale buildup, particularly in areas with hard water. Please refer to your instruction manual for details.

A: The ice storage basket area is not refrigerated. It is intended that ice produced is periodically transferred to zipper lock bags for storage in a conventional freezer.

Q: How to properly clean the unit since it's doesn't have the self-cleaning function?

A: Clean the unit with a 1:1 ratio of household white vinegar and potable water. Do not touch the evaporator fingers. Wipe the internal plastic with a soft lint free cloth (you can use a mixture of mild handwashing dish detergent and tepid water if required). Remember to flush the unit with clear potable water repeatedly to eliminate any handwashing dish detergent and vinegar residue.

A: The unit does not have a "self cleaning" function. NB: The self cleaning function simply circulates water throughout the system with the refrigeration system temporarily disabled. It is not necessary to have the self cleaning function to clean the unit.

I have been using the ice maker for about a month and it works great. Very easy to use and quiet. It doesn't take up much room on the counter. I was surprised how fast it makes ice. Hopefully it will continue to work this well.

It is pretty quiet and makes ice at a good pace. If you move the ice into your freezer once the basket gets full the pieces will freeze together but once can easily be broken apart.

I like that it’s quiet and I like the size and shape of the ice cubes. It made about 15 per half hour maybe? My freezer ice maker takes a full day once you empty it before there is ice so I bought this for parties when we need ice. I like it!
