Q: How prone to breaking are the ice makers?

A: My first machine failed after about 2 yrs. The part that failed is a gear mechanism which lifts the tray up and opens the release gate to empty the ice into the storage bin. It's a common whichh fail.

A: You need to add water and this unit has a 2. 3 quart water tank capacity. It does not need to be connected to a waterline.

A: To clean the interior, unplug the power cord and take out the ice basket. Remove the drain plug from the front underside to drain out the water into the sink. Clean the interior of the appliance with a mixture of warm water and baking soda, using about 1-2 tablespoons per quart of water. Use a sponge or soft cloth and make sure to wipe the excess moisture out before cleaning around the controls. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and dry with a clean soft cloth. The filter at the bottom of the water reservoir is removable in order to clean when needed. Remove the filter, rinse with water and replace the filter in the reservoir. Put back the drain plug. To clean the exterior, clean the exterior surface with warm water and mild detergent. Dry the exterior with a soft clean cloth. When the machine is not in use, open the water drain plug to drain out the water completely from the water reservoir. Replace the drain plug.

This was purchased about two years ago from Target. Very Easy to set up and use. The problem is after a little more than two years of use it has quit. Apparently there is a part that costs about $0.06 that has failed. There is an eye that crosses the bin to let it know that it is full. Well that eye has failed so the machine thinks that the bin is full all the time. The second you turn the machine on it fails. not worth the aggrevation of getting it fixed as the item is less than $200 but I will never purchase one again.

This is not an ice maker I use for day to day purposes, but rather something I use when hosting. With that in mind, it works exactly the way I need it to. It’s light weight and quiet. I wouldn’t recommend for daily use, but when you need a large amount of ice it’s great!

I purchased this 6/2024. Today is 2/9/2025 and it no longer works. It will not stop telling me that it needs more water although it is full. Apparently this is a VERY common issue and unfortunately not really fixable. Bummed as it is pretty pricy.

Our fridge ice machine recently broke, so this machine has been a saving grace. It makes fast, high quality ice bullets in a variety of sizes and even comes with a scooper. However, it’s relativity heavy, takes up counter space, and is loud. Overall it gets the job done, but I likely wouldn’t repurchase it on my own. As for durability I haven’t had any issues thus far, however would like to see how it holds up after an extended period of time. Hopefully this helps!

The noise level for what it’s doing is pretty tolerable. It was easy to clean and you can see the drain hole sticker from the picture. I kid you not…this machine made its first batch of ice in 5 mins. So I think the time for each batch is 5-6 mins. Which is amazing! Basket is full in no time. The ice I made was small but there is a setting for large as well. Now let’s talk about the chew test. IT IS SO SOFT!!!!! This will definitely help me out with my ice chewing addiction. Overall it’s a great machine and checks all the right boxes for me. I LOVE IT!

I always wanted this to have in my basement since our fridge didn't have an icemaker. This came in handy. First, I love its compact design and portable as well. It is a nice black color and can fit in any space without feeling bulky. It also is easy to use and follow directions. You simply turn on and add water. It was not loud at all and noisy either which I love and doesn't appear that it would use lots of electricity or energy. IIt did not take long at all to make ice and they come out in a perfect size. Some people said their machine was loud, but mine is quiet. You only hear the ice coming out. It's not too big, which is great because I don't have a lot of counter space. The only thing that drives me crazy is how hard the basket is to take out. Other than that, I love it and I'm so glad I was able to get one.

It does take up quite a bit of counter space, so a larger kitchen would be best fit. The month I’ve had it, it has chugged away. It has 2 different sizes of ice, but not a huge size difference. It makes a pretty reasonable amount of ice, it maybe needs a refill once a week (for my needs.) I will say, it is pretty loud. I live in an apartment that has the kitchen close to my bedroom, so if I am ever up in the middle of the night, you will hear the ice clunk. This leaves me to have to turn it off at night. It doesn’t take very long to make new ice, but it become a bit of a redundant cycle. If you are an ice lover who is either a deep sleeper or will keep it away from your bedroom, this is a great way to treat yourself.

It’s not something that I thought I would ever need, but after using it for a month, I wouldn’t want to be without it. It says it can make up to 26 pounds of ice a day, I really can’t say if it can or not, but it does make a lot. My daughter lives iced drinks, so this has been getting quite the workout. You have the option of making small or large ice, the ice is bullet shaped. The small will easily fit into soda bottles, but melts more quickly. The large melts more slowly than the small, but you need a wider opening than your typical Coke or Pepsi bottle. I live in an apartment, this is in my kitchen. You can’t even hear it running when you’re in the bedroom. It’s not that noisy at all. The only issue that I have is that the ice basket is a bit hard to get out. It’s underneath the screws and you sort of have to pry it out. Other than that this is a great product. I definitely recommend getting one, it comes in way more handy than you might think.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly, this product is as good as the environment you want to use it in. If it is outside in the heat it will take longer to make ice. I have mine inside and it produces ice quickly. The capacity isn’t that great but would be good for two people. The exterior shell is hard metal and very durable. It is quite heavy so I wouldn’t want to carry it around a lot. The main things I noticed when opening, setting up, and using this ice maker are the noise level, cleanliness, and ice quality. When the machine is making ice it is not quite and makes a constant noise (about the sound level of a fan). I had to clean the inside of the tank when first opening because it was dirty - cleaning before use is a step in the set up instructions - so if you follow those it’s not an issue. Lastly, the quality of the ice is great. It’s soft to chew and doesn’t melt fast. However, there isn’t a big difference between the two size selections you can make (small or large.) Overall, this ice maker is not a bad product and is good in certain settings. Personally, I will use this for my outdoor kitchen area when it’s just me and a few friends making drinks.

Works quietly and generates ice at intervals of 8 minutes. That's great! There are 2 modes for the size of ice small and large. I clearly showed the difference between them in the photo. For me, it wouldn't play a special role when choosing an ice maker. Although it was critical for my husband. I've been using it for a month and I can recommend this product!

It can make small or large bullet shaped ice and only took about 10 minutes to produce a full bucket of ice. I used it at a party and was able to carry it there, plug it in, rinse it out, and take it home easily.
