Description

The Frigidaire Indoor and Outdoor Evaporative Cooler (Swamp Cooler) offers an efficient, eco-friendly alternative to traditional A/C that's perfect for garages, warehouses, and other large spaces. The 10.6-gallon tank can also be connected to a standard garden hose for refill-free outdoor use. Evaporative cooling works best in low humidity environments -- the drier and more arid the climate, the more you will feel the benefits this swamp cooler has to offer.
Stay comfortable all summer long in arid climates west of the Mississippi.

1. Indoor and Outdoor Comfort for Large Spaces

The Frigidaire Indoor and Outdoor Evaporative Cooler offers a powerful cooling alternative for warehouses, garages, and other large industrial spaces. It's also ideal for outdoor use to beat the heat at work or play.

2. 3 Fan Speeds With up to 1650 CFMs

How do you make sure large areas stay evenly cooled? It's all in the fan. This one provides up to 1650 CFMs of airflow to spread the breeze far and wide. Choose from three fan speeds to customize comfort indoors or out.

3. Oversized Tank and Hose Hookup

The 10.6-gallon tank hardly ever runs out of water, and you can eliminate refills entirely when you use this evaporative cooler outside. Simply connect the unit to a standard hose for a continuous water supply. It's that easy.

4. Extra-Thick Cooling Pads Included

Three thick cooling pads cover the back and sides of this evaporative cooler to maximize evaporation with extra surface area. Pads are easy to remove and clean for fresh, cool air that costs far less than traditional air conditioning.

5. Portable Design with High-Intensity Cooling

Easy-glide casters make this evaporative cooler a snap to position anywhere you need it. Roll it into a warehouse, garage or workspace for additional comfort, or use it to cool large indoor/outdoor areas with ease.

Texas gets hot

The unit is a lot bigger than I anticipated but it works wonderfully in this hot texas heat! I love that I can move it to where it works best & can also hook it up to the hose. It isn't the quietest but also not the loudest. I can still head over it so it's not that big of an issue. It also hold a good amount of water so you aren't having to refill it all the time! I fill it usually once a day, sometimes 2, when I use it all day. Great cooler!!

I purchased this unit for my pole barn and I am very impressed with the efficiency of the unit. It had minor shipping damage to a couple of the wheels so I contacted customer support and after a couple of quick emails my replacement parts were on the way. The unit is light enough and draws such little power that I tried it on my boat to help beat the Florida heat and it worked very well. Would definitely recommend it to others.

We have this set up on our patio. It's 100 degrees outside right now and this is blowing cold air, I'm impressed! Set up was super easy, nothing to put together except the hose at the back! You can also just manually put in water, even ice cubes!!! We should have gotten one of these sooner!!!

This unit came ready to go right out of the box. Add water and turn it to cool, and it cools a large space very effectively. It's very loud but it's to be expected for such a large cooling unit. I have used this in a large living room, and a large shop where we restore tractors. Does a great job, easy to set up, and easy to use.

I got this cooler for the guys in the shop at my work. They are out there all summer without air conditioning and it's pretty brutal. This unit is helping them stay cool and is lowering the temperature of our rather large shop with no problems. The guys set it up by filling the reservoir with water (10.6 gallons). They haven't used the included hose connection yet. When on and running, the unit blows really cool air and is relatively quiet. Standing in front of it, I can feel a really cool, really strong breeze that is efficiently cooling our shop down and making their workplace a lot more comfortable. If you're not familiar with an evaporative cooler, it basically pulls water from the reservoir, runs it over the honeycomb filters, producing much cooler air than ambient temperature. There are three switches on top -Cooling, Speed and Swing. There are also two slides next to the fan that allow you to direct the air up or down as needed. This cooler has made their lives a lot better!

I originally got this unit to help cool my garage as an alternative to an A/C unit, but it's a little too humid where I live to produce the type of cooling that I was hoping for (at the time it was 30ish% humidity). This is not a fault of the unit at all. In fact, the unit itself works great. I had it out of the box and up and running within minutes. I like that it has such a large tank for water and that it can be used with or without the cooling feature. The volume of air that the fan expels is more than I had expected. I now use it simply as a fan for the garage and as an evaporative cooler outdoors, like on my back patio, to keep a constant cool breeze going on hot days when we still want to hang out outside. Overall I would definitely recommend this product, just be mindful of using it in enclosed areas with anything but low humidity.

Ready to Go Out of the Box!

I was lucky to receive this cooler and do an on-line review. This cooler is ready to go right out of the box. I added water and turned it on and it worked fine. Today it is 94 degrees of dry heat in Colorado Springs, CO. My house is 77 degrees in the upper level! This cooler definitely cools! I put water in it manually - not hooked up to a hose. I like the 10.6 gallon capacity. Does it make noise? Yes, it is loud, but regular box fans are loud, too. It is not going to break the sound barrier though. It rolls easity, too. Of course, I have vinyl flooring in the rooms I use the cooler. The instructions are easy to follow, too. If you live in a dry climate - I highly recommend this cooler. Coolers do not work well in humid climates.

Had this about 3 weeks and it has exceeded expectations. Different than an air conditioner, you can use it in large spaces, even outside! Great for beating the humidity in a garage, basement, warehouse or similar. I love the fact that you can put either water or ice in it too!

Since working from home, I have made my garage into my office/classroom. This AC Cooler works amazing. It gets my garage cool within minutes and the best part is that it is not that noisy so I can have it going most of the day. Since I live in an area that can get up to 110 degrees most days this is the perfect unit for my needs.

I received this, the first day that I had it my house was so hot. I decided to try it with ice and water. It cooled my house about 12 degrees in an hour and a half. My husband really wanted to try it in our garage where his man cave is at, as he had some work to do on a vehicle, and it was just entirely to hot. He has now taken over the product. He and I were just discussing last night that he may be using this well through out the winter, because it will add some humidity in the garage. We always tend to have a problem with it being dry while we use our wood stove. It is a large product, but works SO WELL! I highly recommend.

The Mother of All Portable Evaporative Coolers

5 out of 5 stars
GeekDadKen - 4 years ago

What Is the Frigidaire Indoor and Outdoor Evaporative Cooler, 650 sq. ft.? What it's not is an air conditioner. What it is, is a massive fan that blows air across water as it drips down a honeycomb surface so that the evaporation causes the air to cool as it wafts into your rooms. It won't turn your living room into an icebox, but it will cut 10-15 degrees off the thermometer on hot days. What's in the Box? One Frigidaire Indoor and Outdoor Evaporative Cooler, 650 sq. ft, a hose adapter, and the product manual. Setup: Locate your cooler outside a door or window facing into your un-cooled house. Fill the reservoir with water (preferably cool water), and turn on the fan and cooling effects. Use: There are three knobs: Cooling on/off, fan speed (off/L/M/H), and swing. You can turn the fan on to three levels of power, which are pretty potent. The cooling is where the water starts dripping down the honeycomb and adding the evaporative cooling effect. The swing means the fan blades oscillate left and right a bit to distribute the cooling air. Output: We have had other evaporative coolers before. This is the biggest and most powerful. It will take outdoor hot air, cool it by 10-15 degrees, and then blow it into your home with very satisfying effect. What I like about the Frigidaire Indoor and Outdoor Evaporative Cooler, 650 sq. ft.: It's massive and powerful. It delivers a huge volume of cooled air, and makes a massive difference on warm-to-hot days when we have no other A/C solution. What could be better: Filling the reservoir is not as easy/tidy as it could be. We don't use the adapter to attach a hose directly, so spraying water from a hose into the reservoir is not as simple as it could be. The final verdict: If you live in a dry region with hot days, and you either don't have air conditioning, or want to save a little money against what running A/C can cost, then this is the workhorse you need. It will fill a large room with cooler air quickly, and keep things comfortable for hours. Love this machine! Note: we received a review unit for evaluation. Disclosure: GeekDad received a sample of this item for review purposes.

My First Evaporative Cooler Experience

4 out of 5 stars
Touring_Midwest (Drew) - 4 years ago

This is my first Evaporative Cooler, I decided to use it in my garage and see how it works. My garage is attached to my house but not central air cooled like the rest of the home. and in the summer months it gets pretty uncomfortable when I am out here trying to wrench on my Road Glide or some other project I have going on, a fan will help some but only to get air moving around. First off this thing is a Beast so you will need a good amount of space for it, that being said it is built to cool a pretty large area so it isn't a complaint... its more of an observation. the unit looks nice and It cools my space down a couple of degrees in a very short amount of time and keeps the air moving nicely throughout. I love the fact that it has an actuator to move the air side to side. if its blowing directly towards me its pretty dang cold air so I am able to take a nice little break and get back to work. I have not yet tried adding ice to it like the instructions suggest that you can but I think that would be an awesome option for a hot summer day outdoor get together like a Grill out or maybe a graduation party or something like that. The only issue is that I live in Minnesota and here the summers get pretty HUMID, these sorts of units use water to cool which also puts moisture in the air while its cooling your space so some days if its been running a-lot everything will get very damp, thats not a huge issue for my garage but its something to consider depending on where you are going to use it. over all I am pretty happy with it and I am looking forward to trying it out in an outdoor setting...Perhaps this weekend when we have a get together with the neighbors.
