Q: Will this brace impead your ability to breathe in any manner? I wear a binder on my chest that is compression and I don't want the combintation of the two to cause me any trouble

Q: Can it be washed in the washing machine?

A: No, this product cannot be machine washed. Please see the following cleaning instructions: First, if your support has hinges, clips or metal splints, remove them. Then close all straps and fasteners and hand wash with mild soap in warm (not hot) water. Rinse well and air dry. DO NOT machine wash, tumble dry, dry clean or use fabric softener or bleach on the brace. Works well. I have degenerative disc problems and when I wear this I can get my chores done with a lot less pain. Well priced. I’m 5’6” and wear a women’s size 10 and can get plenty of tightness wrapped around. Wish I would’ve bought it sooner!

I pulled a back muscle a few days prior to purchasing this. I could not even stand up straight, like looked like the letter S. After putting this on I was able to stand better, have better posture and reduced the pain in my back. Yes it does block your belt and top of your pants, it’s a back support. I don’t know what others are complaining about...that’s where it is supposed to go, around your lower back. I would recommend for back issues and better posture.
They changed the 'width', now it's uncomfortable

I'd been wearing this velcro back thing for several years, and liked it, but they've changed the 'width' (top to bottom size) and it's way too wide, not comfortable. I'll keep looking, maybe I can find an older one for sale somewhere.

I was on bedrest for three months and my back was not pleased with standing and sitting. A friend recommended a different store's cheaper back brace but I liked that Target has better reviews. To be sure it fit, I tried it on in the store. I'm about 36 - 37" in the waist and about 45" in the hips. I can even position it lower in front to provide belly support (I'm pelvic prolapsed and was afraid a belt too high would further push everything down -- it doesn't!) while still getting great back support. I did wear it under my shirt for a bit; it's not terribly scratchy but it isn't real comfy on skin. I also figured out that if I want it tighter, the two adjusting straps can be placed one on top of the other -- they don't have to meet in front! Now the first layer needs to velcro shut so smaller folks will need to be sure the first layer closes fairly snugly. But for my sizing (I wear 38 waist x 32 inseam jeans) this brace is awesome. And it doesn't seem to have rolling issues, like so many others.
