Q: Has anyone with carpal tunnel used this? I've been getting thumb pain from typing/carpal tunnel and I'm wondering if it would help.

A: I have not been diagnosed with carpal tunnel, but I do suffer from repetitive motion syndrome. This product has given me a lot of relief. It doesn’t work miracles, but I’m sure glad I have it.
submitted bySugarSkull4ever - 7 years agoA: I used the thumb splint to immobilize my thumb until i had surgery on the 1st carpometacarpal joint for severe arthritis. I'm not sure this splint would help w/carpal tunnel but it was a life saver keeping me pain-free the time i wore it before my surgery.

I use this for pain in my thumb. I have slightly larger hands for a woman, but the s/m was still a good fit. It does the job and isn't as rigid as some that I have had. However, the Velcro does wear out after a few months. It's still working for me but for what I paid for it, I'm not thrilled that it's starting to wear out already. I do wear it on my left hand, so it does have to be taken off and on a few times a day. Still, I wish it was a little more resilient.

It was a great snug fit. After a few wears, it began spinning along the wrist and not offering the support as was expected. Maybe 4 days in wearing. I opted to alternate between this and a hand wrap to keep my thumb stable as it heals.

I like how it's not bulky, but I kind of wish it was more stiff, because I can't seem to adjust it in a way that keeps my injured thumb from hurting when I have to use it. I bought the small/medium version, and it seems to fit well. I'm just not sure of how much it's helping.

Great low cost option if you need to immobilize your thumb. I jammed and then bent my thumb (within 2 minutes of each other) in a weird way while doing Jiu Jitsu and this has helped me feel a lot better.

Obviously everyone has a different ligament or tendon issue. This brace may work well for some people. The problem I am having is I need the entire thumb to be supported, not just the base where the thumb digit connects to the hand. In order to get good support, I have had to use two popsicle sticks to extend the thumb section. It looks ridiculous but it works slightly better.

Due to the orientation of this thumb brace on the hand, it's only good for the right hand. It cuts into the palm of the left hand.

It immediately offers relief and allows me to pick up items with low/no pain. I have only worn it for one day and I already feel relief when I take it off to do things that require hand washing. It is super comfortable and I can sleep in it with no problem. Additionally, it is super easy to put on, take off, and alter the tightness. This is exactly what I needed to rest my thumb to keep me from likely needing to seek medical attention. I’m beyond happy with this product!
