Great watch but became glitchy

Have loved this watch but became glitchy after glitchy after about a year and a half, not tracking distance correctly and getting totally confused with the elevation - disappointing given how expensive a purchase it is!
Heart rate pulse different

I have two other Garmin watches and they give me a higher reading and more accurate heart rate reading. It seems the 955 lags a lot and is consistently lower when running up hills.
love this watch

The watch is excellent. Met my expectations. The only issue is that the battery is draining fast.
Great features, great price!

I was searching for a new watch to track activities and everything else in life, and found that this model had all the things I was looking for--solar charging, maps, touchscreen. Couldn't be happier!

I started with an Instinct, moved to a Fenix, and now have settled on the Forerunner. I enjoy how lightweight and unobtrusive it is on my arm. I can actually sleep with this device with no problem.
Pretty amazing piece of technology!

Apart from an occasional software update related glitch, I have had zero issues since purchasing this watch in June 2022!

I had been an apple watch user for years and I have fully cut to the Garmin from the Ultra. I find it more accurate and less distracting than the Ultra. The Garmin health data has been extremely insightful plus extreme battery life.
Not bad for a non-tech savvy guy...

It is a great motivator for an old man who just wants to stay active. You could explain some of the different aspects and how they relate to your health. But I like the watch. It keeps me motivated to get up and do something.
5 Star Watch. 3 Star Software

I’m not a smart watch person- I’ve never had a pedometer or fitbit, let alone an Apple Watch (which is, at best, an accessory to an iPhone). I like the watch a lot. Software needs some work. Three things that would be helpful: a search feature in Connect and better map integration. I’ve added Koomot and All Trails- but it’s a GPS- why can’t I integrate it more easily? Third. The need to pay for a third party calorie counter is unacceptable. I wouldn’t us MFP for free, let alone pay for it in premium.
Fantastic number of features!!!

I have been wanting a watch of this type for some time and am thrilled with my decision for this purchase. The number of features is amazing and the adaptability to whatever sport or physical activity you are engaged in is really appreciated. I am also quite enjoying seeing what my sleep score is, and it is interesting to discover that on mornings when I wake up feeling I really didn’t sleep well, my Garmin backs that up with the data! Really looking forward to more adventures with this amazing accessory!
Overall stratified, sleep option kinda off though

Elevation always off

Over the course of the year the elevation on ascent and descent has been off, like stating I am doing 10,000 feet of climb. Even I wish I can do that I know I am not. I have called Garmin and every time they tell me reset the watch and still nothing happens. So select wisely if you are a triathlete or a runner. Best of luck!

Bought in 2023, I loved using it but not the watch now keeps saying "battery to low to connect to wifi" even when fully charged so I cant refresh any playlists. On various forums other users have said the same issue without any resolution. I can't get hold of garmin service team so they clearly don't care. Now stuck with a watch that doesn't have full functionality
All around great sports watch.

Great sportswatch, leaning more running centric. But I use it for everything from running to sailing.

Really liking the watch. Coming from a Samsung watch 3 there are mostly pros and some cons. The weight: Garmin 955 is way less heavy in a noticeable way that i didn't expect to like. The battery life: just wow. I'm missing the find my phone feature, and 4g connectivity. And maybe i haven't figured it out, yet, but i wish i could design very specific watch faces
Amazing Useful Health Metrics

I love my new watch because it has a long battery life and solar charges. The watch provides accurate GPS data and can track heart rate. The health measuring features such as stress, sleep, HRV, training readiness, training status, body battery, and heart rate all seem accurate, helping you decide what exercises to do. Additionally, the watch has a touch screen along with buttons making it easy to navigate through different screens. The best part about the watch is that it has a clear, always on MIP display.

I have had a Garmin watch for for many years, I have had the Forerunner 955 Solar for 2 years or so. It is a great watch that can track many fitness and health metrics. I highly recommend.

I use it for multiple sports such as paragliding, paramotoring, inline skating, cycling, running and in my gym workouts and I've always found it to be an excellent device. It's not just the watch, but in conjunction with the different apps that one can use, they give it more power and functionality, such as: Garmin Messenger, Garmin Explorer, Garmin Connect, etc. Really very versatile and complete. I was in doubt whether to buy the Fénix or this one and today I think I chose the best one for my taste and use, in addition to being an ideal size. The MIPs screen cannot be surpassed outdoors, they are the best. I'm not a fan of AMOLEDs and I've had other brands with not so good results outdoors. MIPs is unbeatable. In cycling I use it as a cycle computer on the handlebars using the HRM Dual and other sensors (cadence/speed) and it's great, a device for everything. Perhaps the aesthetic aspect could be improved, it is a normal watch, it does not stand out, nowadays you can see watches from Garmin and other brands with a beautiful appearance, but I still prefer this model and its MIPs screen. Also the software updates are constant, with the addition of new functionalities and that is highly appreciated. If you want to go for a walk or train, without your mobile phone and listen to music with Bluetooth headphones, you can do that too.
