I love this lightbulb for my lamps nightlight feature. The bulb that came with the lamp is too bright. This lightbulb isn’t blinding and I love the soft candle effect. The card inside is not the most attractive but I just turned the lamp so the cards profile was facing forward. Overall this lightbulb gives a peaceful vibe.

Not a flame bulb, it flickers but it’s horribly ugly it a bulb with a rectangle inside and light goes up and down the rectangle, it’s fine if u put it in an enclosed lamp but it’s not like the old ge flicker bulb

I bought this specifically to put in my porch light for Halloween. I love the effect it gives. Yes, when you are looking at the bulb up close, it does not look anything like a flame. I thought it would be a bust. However, I walked down to the end of my driveway to take a look. The bulb does give the effect of what a gas flame lamp light would look like. I love it! It is not bright at all, but I have enough Halloween lights in my yard to overcome that. I'm glad I purchased it just to see how it would look.

Don't expect a ton of light from these bulbs. They're not designed for that. They're designed to mimic candles which are of course not as bright as real bulbs. They do a great job of that in terms of the flicker, the warmth of the light given off, and, yes, the relative dimness. The "flame" doesn't look like a true flame, giving more of a Star Trek vibe if you look at it directly, but you can easily forget that when you're not literally staring at the bulb. I bought 3 for old-style fixtures around the house for occasional ambiance, and I'm happy with them.

I don’t know what all these bad reviews are about! These lightbulbs are amazing! I use them outdoors and it gives the look of gas flame lanterns. I get a compliment from everyone who comes over. They are outstanding! They are also very dim. So, if you’re looking for a bulb that throws a lot of light- then don’t buy a bulb called flicker flame. They’re perfect for those wanting a flicker flame effect.

soooo dim , the second i plugged it in me and my friend LAUGHED at how pathetic it looked 😭 returned it within an hour, looks absolutely ridicules!! Look at how low the lumens are !!

Just a disclaimer! This light is best used if you have a lamp cover that will hide the bulb 👍 The bulb looks unappealing, but if covered it brings great ambience to a dull room.

I love these bulbs!!!! I have to say that unless you are putting a small lampshade on your chandelier or your scones they aren’t ideal. They are very digital looking without. But if you have a chandelier shade on, it’s a really beautiful effect! I think they might be cool on the chandelier that was reasonably high up so that it wasn’t right in front of your eyes…..further away it would be cool but up close, it’s obviously a digital light.

Realistic flame effect in opaque fixtures

The LED Strip inside this bulb create really realistic, random flame lighting. The effect works best if it's see through opaque glass. That helps diffuse the LEDs, blur the lights together, and create a softer, warmer light. Been using them for several months now. Great in the evenings. Bought 2 more to add to the house.

This looks nothing like the picture on the box. The inside bit that lights up is an opaque flat strip that looks like a pregnancy test. Seriously. Or like those PH testing strips for swimming pools. Anyway, the the light jumps up and down on it to, yes, make a flickering effect, which is okay if you never see the bulb. So, for goodness sake, do plan to obscure the awful-looking test strip bulb itself.
