GE Profile Opal Nugget Ice Maker Appliance Cleaner Liquid Kit - 5oz: Ice Machine Cleaner Solution for Stainless Steel

I received the Opal cleaning kit, but there were no instructions! Where do you pour the solution? Where do you use the sponge? Your website nor the owners manual does not clarify any of this. HELP!

I ordered this & it was delivered today. I opened the box & the solution & cleaning cloth had just been thrown in the box. They weren’t in a product package. The solution had leaked all over the box, causing a mess on my floor. This went straight into the trash can!

Is this supposed to come in no packaging? It came sealed in a zip-lock and the instructions and sponge free in the box?

We love this product but after. Few months there is some mildew building up in the bottom reservoir. Is there a filter to change as the filter is also quite moldy.

We've owned the Opal 1.0 for 2 years now and really love it. However, my wife saw a video on how mold builds up inside the unit. We opened the inner water reservoir and found it disgusting. Will this cleaning kit take care of the problem? Or do we have bigger issues?

We are having trouble with our ice machine. When we first purchased the machine the ice made in 30 minutes no problem, now in 30 mins we don't have enough ice to fill one cup. We just cleaned the machine to see if that would help. Let me know if there is something we are missing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I got my Opal Ice Maker, I didn’t really know what sort of upkeep would be involved and I love that the brand offers a kit so you know you are doing it right. I don’t want to break my beloved ice machine! This includes everything you need including the cleaning solution, a sponge (which is super cool because it comes looking like a thin piece of cardboard and when you wet it it immediately expands into a normal sponge!), cotton swabs, a cleaning cloth, and very clear directions written out with helpful illustrations. While the process of cleaning the machine is involved and a little tedious (one step involves leaving the solution soaked sponge in the ice tray for at least 18 hours!), this took out all the guess work and made it as easy as possible.

There are clear directions and even a video on line. it seems to really address the mineral deposit isues that can occur when your water is not of the best quality. I was personally nervous about using any product that has danger warnings for causing skin irritation and eye damge especially if it is going in something that I will be consuming ice from. However, it did the job and I just ran the cleaning cylcles again and all was good. The cleaning solution bottles were about 2/3 full. Not sure what this is about but from what I have seen on line, this is normal.
