When used every 3 months, or as often needed, Keurig® Descaling Solution safely and effectively cleanses and removes mineral buildup from inside your coffee maker which can affect brewer performance, taste, and quality of your beverages. An important step of your Keurig® coffee maker maintenance routine, Keurig® Descaling Solution keeps your coffee maker clean, performing at its peak, and beverages tasting their best. Keurig® Descaling Solution is the only Keurig® recommended cleaning solution to be used with all Keurig® coffee makers. Descaling is an important process that cleans the inside of your coffee maker. Over time, calcium deposits called scale can build up inside your coffee maker. If left unchecked, these buildups can affect the performance of your coffee maker and taste of your beverages. Keurig® Descaling Solution is an effective, fast-acting, and odorless solution which helps clean and remove calcium and mineral deposits to keep your coffee maker clean and brewing at its best. To preserve longevity of your coffee maker, we recommend using Keurig® Descaling Solution every 3 months or as often as needed (depending on the mineral content of your water, you may need to descale more frequently). Q: Just bought a Keurig K-70 coffee maker from a thrift store & did the pre brew sequence. Made first cup and now the menu says to "descale". We use distilled water. Do we really need to descale?

Scale is harmless, but if left unattended, it can hinder optimal brewer performance. Descaling your brewer regularly helps maintain the heating element, removable water reservoir and other parts of the brewer that come in contact with water. Also, you can use distilled water in your Keurig brewer but we don't recommend it because it can change the taste profile of your coffee by making it bitter.

This does not stop the descaling light from blinking. My 12 Oz cups are still 10 Oz, so it didn’t fix the descaling issues.

My coffeemaker works well and I like it. However, it tends to grow algae in the very bottom of the water receptacle. This product was helpful, although I had to go online to find out how much solution to use, since there were not directions on the bottle.

Tried solution twice & descale light does not turn off on my duo-gen 2. The descale light went on 3-4 weeks after purchase. The issue may be the model since I've never had problems with my other Keurigs.

We're sorry to hear about this. Did you activate the Descale Mode on your K-Duo Hot & Iced Single-Serve & Carafe coffee maker before starting the process? To activate Descale mode, press and hold the CUPS and OZ buttons together for 3 second. Press the flashing BREW button to begin the single serve descale cycle. Once complete, press the flashing BREW button to begin the carafe side descale. Once the descale process is complete, the add water light will turn on. The brewer will now exit Descale mode and the descale light will turn off. If you followed the correct process for the K-Duo Hot & Iced Single-Serve & Carafe coffee maker and are still experiencing this, please call our Consumer Care team at 866-901-2739, we will be more than happy to help.
