Unlike a snow blower, most electric snow shovels do not have a dedicated chute to adjust the throw direction, so you'll need to manipulate the shovel's angle to guide the snow. To direct the angle at which an electric snow shovel throws snow, slightly tilt the shovel itself in the desired direction while operating it; essentially, by angling the shovel slightly left or right, you can control where the snow is ejected. This unit has a safety/lock-out button which needs to be engaged at the same time as the trigger to start the unit. If you are to hold the trigger down without engaging the lock-out button, the unit will not operate. Please take a look at the following video link for a better demonstration. Hello BigJoe46738. We are sorry to hear you are not happy with this machine. The unit does require a fair bit of upper body strength and depending on the condition of the snow it can get more difficult to maneuver. Try only clearing one-third of the width of the unit to lighten to load acting against it. This will help with the load acting against the unit and should hopefully assist in a more enjoyable user experience. Most Snow Shoves are not equipped with a chute, they are a light duty electric snow shovel for walkways, driveways and patios. We do suggest noting, the wind directions, if possible; and move in the same direction as the wind so that the snow is not pushed towards the wind. Directing the snow in front or to either side by pushing the snow shovel forward so that it rides on the scraper. Lastly, adjusting the handle can provide a better balance between the battery and the base. To adjust the balance of the unit, loosen the screws to move the auxiliary handle up and down the shaft till it is comfortable. Technique plays a large role in the overall user experience, so we are sure to provide these tips to customers. To start tart the machine. 1. Simultaneously push the safety-lock button and pull the trigger. Please note, users must use TWO (2) fully charged Greenworks 24V battery packs. Do not use battery packs other than Greenworks 24V. Ensure both batteries are charged 100%. If each battery has a different charge state, the run-time of the machine is subject to the lowest powered battery (For example: one battery is charged 100%, and the other is charged 50%, the unit will only run until the 50% battery is depleted). When using TWO (2) batteries with different amp hours (Ah), the machine will run until the lower (Ah) battery is depleted. Hope you find this information is helpful.
