About this item
Highlights
- The saber-toothed tiger clan is looking for a new leader! But only the caveman who collects the most supplies, barters successfully and pays homage to the old nature gods will prove worthy.
- But! You can never forget Honga! If you ignore the saber-tooth tiger, he will eat up your food and valuable supplies.
- Gather resources and use them to complete trade agreements, lure mammoths to the tribe herd, and move their cavemen up the sacred mountain. But, if you don't make sure that at least one of your actions is allocated to Honga's den, he'll come steal food from you!
- In this resource management game for 2-5 players ages 8+, players must balance between keeping Honga at bay and using their limited actions effectively.
- With multiple paths to victory, light player interaction, and a 45-minute play time, Honga will quickly have you coming back again and again. After all, this saber-toothed tiger is really just a big kitty at heart.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have enjoyed playing Honga. It has an interesting premise but it has been a little hard for our girls to grasp. I would say that the game is definitely for children older than 10. There are so many ways that you can play even I was getting a little confused on all the fish, berries and resources. I would suggest watching a video on how to play before starting. I had how to cash your rewards in wrong and it was confusing for me even as an adult. The theme and game boards are very cute and give a lot to making the game fun. I just wish it was a little easier to understand.

The youngest person I've played this with is 24 yrs old, however, you can play with kids young as 8 (per the box). Plays up to 5 players, which is nice. Easy to learn, fun to play, with a variety of things to do for scoring, an excellent family-weight game. It's become a family favorite. Highly recommended for any skill level board gamer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received Honga from tryitsampling in exchange for my honest feedback. Game was super easy to learn and more importantly fun to play. Components are very nice and the decisions in the game are varied enough to keep you wanting to replay the game over and over. It was a lot of fun to play with the family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that this game can be set up so quickly! It is appropriate for those ages 8 and above. It is most definitely a game the entire family can play. The instructions are easy to follow and the colorful game board is a nice touch. We had fun playing this as a family!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This game set is very thoughtful - the pieces and game board is made of good material - it’ll last! What we (adults) like about it a lot is that the game pieces are in its place and it’s a faster game (compare to monopoly!). The kids always enjoy every game and wants to play again and again. This game was easy to learn and very fun to play - this is definitely one of our top board game on family night.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received Haba Honga game to test. This game is a strategy game and meant for ages 8 and older. The game can be played with a minimum of 2 players and a max of 5 players. The point of the game is to reach a certain amount of points to win while also paying attention to Honga. The amount of points to win will depend on how many players are playing. My husband and I played the game a few times and we really enjoyed playing. Our first game took maybe an hour and a half since we were reading the instructions as we played. The next couple of games went much faster. I’m not entirely sure that my husband and I are playing the game correctly when it comes to certain things but we think we were able to catch on pretty quickly to the main point of the game. Setup is really quick, it took less than 5 mins to setup. We really enjoyed playing. The game is fun and can be addicting. We can’t wait to play this game with other adults. This is a great family game.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love boardgames and would consider myself a casual enthusiast. My wife, not as much. Our oldest son is 8 and we do game nights and typically it's more kid focused games, but this is a great family game that offers more depth and modern game mechanics that work for all of us. Our son is able to keep up and have fun, it's not overwhelming or complicated and keeps my wife's interest, and for me it's a bit more similar to what I'd like to see on the table. I'd call it an introductory game to modern board games, but that's a disservice. This is a great game that's earned it's place at our table. If you're looking for a well rounded fun fest, this is a good one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this game to play with my kids who are 7 & 10 and it has been a hit! It's fun to try a game with a little more strategy involved than your average kid's game. It's got an element of excitement and for the competitive ones, it hits the spot.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The rule book is quite clear and it's easy to learn and to teach to both young and adult players. Second, the components are very nice and I especially like the indented player boards which keep the games pieces in their places. Third, there is a wide variety of game mechanics in the game which mesh together wonderfully while not being overwhelming to the player. It is a great strategy game.
Super fun family game.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We was looking for a few family games. And this game is perfect for kids and adults to play together. Several different ways to win the game so it really keeps the kids thinking thru the whole process. The game pieces are made very well. This game will last.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My nine and seven year old son’s really enjoyed this game. It was easy for both of them to learn. They were fully engaged and there are lots of small elements throughout the game that kept them entertained. I like that there is decision making and strategy thinking involved. We enjoyed playing together as a family on our weekend game night.
