submitted byHamiltonBeachTeam - 6 years agoBrand expertA: DON'T use oven-proof glass or oven-proof stoneware in small toaster ovens or counter-top ovens. The heating elements are too close to the dish, (unlike in a regular oven), and it will break the dish. DO use stainless steel, or aluminum shallow pans that will comfortably fit in the toaster oven, to bake in. I even have an older enamel-coated steel shallow baking pan from a small oven that finally quit working many years ago, that fits in my toaster oven, that works well.

Q: How can I get the inside of thjs toaster clean. The dark spots on the metal that appeared after toasting will not come off no matter how I scrub.

I love toaster ovens for cooking kid food, appetizers or side dishes at different temperatures than the food in the oven. I also use it during heat waves, so I don’t have to turn on the oven. All of my previous toaster ovens have lasted 5-10 years, without any issues. I’ve had this one for 5 days and an OVEN SAFE plastic tray melted in it. I’ve used this type of tray in ovens and toaster ovens several times before. I knew this was a cheap brand based on previous experience, but I chose to try this because I usually can count on wirecutter recommendations. I won’t make that mistake again. I bought the Hamilton beach slow cooker based on their recommendation too and it stinks up the whole kitchen with a chemical smell every time I use it. It’s just a cheap brand. I’d rather spend more on a nicer toaster oven or get a less expensive, basic one that will be better than this.

For about 5 months this toaster oven was perfect for me. Compact size and worked well, but then it just stopped heating up. It would get a little warm and then just stop. It didn't even stay hot long enough to make toast. I just reached out to the Hamilton Beach Customer Service so we will see what happens.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you're looking for an extra large oven that can cook chicken and pizza and 12 cupcakes at the same time this is the conventional rotisserie air fryer for you. I would buy the extended warranty due to the fact that the mechanism that is inside of the machine that lights up the coils the glass coils burns out and melts I had one already for a year-and-a-half and it melted it we took it apart and this item is made in China the little device that's inside of it to turn on the coils to make it light up and work so I can heat up that one is made cheaply other than that this whole cooking oven is perfect. I would suggest to the company please have replacement parts so we can fix them because I still currently have my other oven sitting in my garage and all I'm missing is inside the machine to light up the coils to ignite it and it won't work anymore so I have a perfectly good machine collecting dust. But I suggest with all their devices by extended warranties.

not happy with this toaster oven , takes a very long time to heat and doesn't heat through, it's fine for toast , but the oven is awful. it also says it fits a 9 inch pizza and barely fits an 8 inch pizza. certainly wasn't worth the money.

Don't be swayed by the other reviews. Most of them call this a second oven, which is not what I was looking for when I purchased this toaster. My primary oven works just fine. I did not need a second one. I needed a toaster. And this thing has turned my waffles into burnt crisps. My previous toasters had a timer that made a pleasing ding sound when my food was toasted, but this toaster doesn't unless it goes over 10 minutes. I don't need to toast my waffles for 10 minutes. This product is useful if you don't have an oven or need a second one. But if you're looking for a classic toaster oven that you can just set and walk away from, this is not it.

Have only been using for two weeks. There is a bit of a learning curve. It is on my counter and the controls are hard to see unless I bend down. But I will learn where the settings are. Love how it makes toast. Great for chicken strips.

So far so good! Had it only about a week. Interior a little smaller than I thought, but sufficient. I wanted a simple toaster oven without lots of add ons. The stainless looks good with my other appliances. Haven’t tried a little pizza yet. It would have to be little.

Love this little oven. With all of the extra cooking happening with our kids home all the time, we use the oven feature about once a day, and I have been really happy with it. It heats quickly and cooks evenly, and I use it to reheat food a lot.
