one of my favorite YA books! It has limited spice if you're not into that. It ends on a great cliff for the next book. It's just really well written and I got very caught up in this one.

Kristen Ciccarelli’s Heartless Hunter is a thrilling dive into a world where enemies become lovers only to find themselves as enemies once more. The dynamic between the female main character (FMC) and the male main character (MMC) is electric, making this the perfect read for fans of the enemies-to-lovers-to-enemies trope. One of the standout features of Heartless Hunter is its magic system. It’s straightforward and easy to grasp, avoiding the common pitfall of overwhelming the reader with overly complex details. This allows the story to flow smoothly, keeping the focus on the characters and their journey. The plot is refreshingly unpredictable. While the romantic tension between the FMC and MMC is palpable from the start, the path they take to get there is anything but obvious. Each twist and turn kept me eagerly turning the pages, culminating in a thrilling conclusion where the FMC and MMC find themselves at odds once again. This cliffhanger sets up a tantalizing anticipation for the next installment. The villain of the story is another highlight. Ciccarelli masterfully crafts a narrative where the true antagonist remains hidden until a surprising twist towards the end. This revelation adds a layer of complexity and intrigue, making the story even more compelling. Heartless Hunter is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted fantasy with a strong romantic core and unexpected twists. I can’t wait for book two to see how the FMC and MMC’s tumultuous relationship continues to unfold!
