At a time of rapid change, this is an examination of the safe and ethical use of AI which complies with forthcoming regulations in the UK, Europe and the US.
ChatGPT gained 100 million active users just two months after launch and has been described as the "fastest-growing consumer application in history" [UBS]. In comparison, TikTok took nine months to reach 100 million users and Instagram took around 2.5 years. This increased awareness has been the centre of headlines, stirring panic surrounding the dangers of AI, such as: disinformation, job losses, and widening the digital and wealth divide. But how can businesses actually use AI safely and ethically, and to its full potential? Despite AI's transformative potential for people and their organizations, public trust in AI is low. If companies wish to take full advantage of AI within their business, they must adopt and communicate a responsible approach to AI in order to build consumer, employee and stakeholder confidence. In Machines we Trust provides business leaders with practical steps to ensure that AI is created and used responsibly, minimizing the potential harm to people, society or the environment. In Machines We Trust provides a practical guide for business leaders on implementing an effective AI compliance program, addressing the gap left by existing literature that often overlooks practical applications in favour of more theoretical discussions.About the Author
