Kristin Ess Hair Gloss Dye in Bittersweet for Dark Brown Hair - 4 fl oz

I have level 3-4 brown hair so darker and was excited to use this to help make it a little bit richer or more neutral. The gloss felt nice and wasn’t irritating to my hair but it did nothing with color. My hair didn’t darken at all and has no noticeable change in tone/undertone. I wish it had done more or had a noticeable change but I didn’t see any benefit!

BUY THIS. it’s absolutely incredible - took out all brassy tones from my hair and left a gorgeous result!

When using a hair gloss, i like buying Kristin Ess brand. I have highlights on my hair and i have used their toner and it leaves my hair feeling so soft and making my hair color even in between salon visits. I do have a lot of hair so i have to use two boxes, a bit pricey but worth it.

Nice for the 5 days after a week the color fades.

I was looking to darken my ends that were previously lightened by bleach and blend the color in with my naturally very dark brown hair. The bittersweet gloss did a great job turning the brown-red color into a neutral dark brown.

The pigment is great but the colour bleeds!!!! It gets on everything. The red will take over again like it did last time. It's still beautiful, bit it's sad to see my yellows and oranges deepen as thes red takes over before they all begin to fade (right about time for me to head back to my stylist). The colours are ever changing and shifting with each wash because the red that rinses out (even in plain, cold water) deepens thes lighter tones. I don't mind the ever- shifting hair. It's fun and looks like I visit the salon much more often than I actually do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well well… Not really impressed with the results. Nice toning of multidimensional warm blond hair. Blended my root grow out beautifully. I think it worth buying between appointments for a little better color. I applied the product as a hair mask and let it sit for 30 min (20 min was recommended) Then got back in the shower to shampoo and condition. Package is simple and easy to use, amount is enough for medium length hair. If u have long hair I recommend to use 2 packages. I can definitely say that my hair just looks healthier and fresh, shiny and glossy, but not much color difference.

I love how the color stays for weeks and keeps hair looking and feeling amazing. Covered my grays. Hair felt absolutely soft. Probably wouldn’t do it again with this particular color because I don’t see much difference. The application is super easy. The smell is pretty much non existent. And it didn’t stain my shower or my skin. I may not have picked the correct color for my hair which could be why I don’t see much difference. But overall the formula and product is pretty nice!

simple to mix n apply. soft and smooth hair after and during application. my highlights were dull so i toned them close to my natural hair color. i have dry, damaged curly hair so i rinsed and conditioned it out-it worked well.

I was never one to attempt any dye products at home, but in a pinch I tried this gloss and am so glad I did! The color refresh this gives is so natural while adding shine and hydration back into my hair. The scent is as if you are coming from a salon but in a good way. I think it makes my hair smell great and isn’t too strong. I really like how easy the application is and that it comes with everything you need including gloves. The results typically last me about four months before I retouch. For the price and the fact that I’m doing it myself, this gives incredible results and I feel confident after using it.

This hair gloss has been my go since I started doing my hair alone. I like to keep my hair as healthy and I’ve used this product every month for the last year and it has never damaged my hair. It tints and gives your hair such a healthy feeling and look and I’ve only ever gotten compliments. It has a nice scent like you just came from a hair salon. Def worth it.

Amazing!! Never discontinue! One use gets rid of brass in my dark brunette balayage and lasts a long time. It’s the only product that does this without prolonged, repeated application. I’ve never had luck with toning shampoos/conditioners or other at-home toning and only see minimal to no results with those products, even if used frequently. To my knowledge, “Bittersweet” is this line’s only toner/gloss for black/brown hair that’s made to remove brass. I would love Kristen Ess to come out with another toner option that removes brass, but is lighter brown. Bittersweet removes brass but the color left behind is semi-permanent and I would like to get a lighter balayage that I can maintain at home, but this darkens my lighter pieces a lot so it might make a lighter balayage too dark
