My hair was rich medium brown, with highlights, I usually use Age Beautiful from Sally’s but I used loreal 7n dark blond today, which I would say lightened it a level .. I’m 59 years old with lots of gray…While this is a beautiful color it didn’t color my grays…I did love the shampoo and conditioner that was included which made my hair silky …If I didn’t have grays this would be a 5!
Does not cover grays!!

Wanted to like this with the aspect of it being ammonia free. I have light to med brown hair with mid tone highlights. I've used nice n easy to touch up my roots in between colorings. It was good and covered my grays but I wanted to try something that would maybe be a little easier on my hair considering it's a bit damaged now from bleach due to highlighting. Tried this in 6N, light neutral brown. Says it works with ash, golden and obviously neutral shades of brown. I do have some stubborn grays, not going to lie. So instead of leaving this on the suggested I left it on for a little over an hour. After rinsing out and shampooing and conditioning I began to dry my hair to see what color I wound up with. So the color is ok but he's the kicker. It did nothing to cover my grays at all!!! It's actually highlighted them and they look far worse than before I dyed them. Never using this agin. What a waste of time. Now I have to wait a few days and buy a real dye to actually cover my grays. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hair color if your have grays to cover. Will not cover them at all.

Great coverage! I absolutely should have picked a lighter shade than 4N because it feels black to me. There is still warmth tho- reddish brown tint in the light. It’s a beautiful color but too dark for my complexion

Pulls red on me instead of neutral. I’m sure it’s a “me” issue.. but still good to know. Used 2 boxes for hair halfway down back. Loved the conditioner included. To be honest, I wouldn’t pick this color again

7N RUINED my hair

I used 7N in order to even out my hair tone. I have naturally dark blonde hair that is neutral but tends to lean cool. I have grown out highlights and often tone my hair with gloss (the gloss is normally use was out of stock). I used this and it turned my hair ORANGE. I kid you not it turned my roots a copper color and ruined my natural hair. It looks like it may have lightened my hair even though it’s ammonia free.

7N did a very poor job of covering white roots. 80% of white roots still show. Universal nudes does not appear to be a good product for covering white roots in the lighter shades.

Made my hair black not brown very disappointed. Ya the scent is very good, it doesn’t have a overpowering smell that you start coughing. I started to shed hair wouldn’t purchase it based on the color turn out.

I have to join the others who have used 5N natural brown. My medium brown hair turned black with a normal application. Two stars for leaving it shiny, but the color is way off and I'm not pleased.

A bit messier and more drippy than the John Frieda Foam Color that I enjoyed using. The smell (or lack thereof) was a total win! I wish there were more color options. I naturally have warm dark brown hair and based on the hair color samples I went with the 5N. I followed the directions and my hair came out wayyy too dark, similar to the experience of another reviewer. It is dark dark brown. To the point where wearing black washes me out with the dark hair. I would not say it was an accurate color match. Everyone I knew commented on my new (unintentional) dark hair color, which isn't great since that's not what I wanted. The color washed out a little bit and became lighter but not ideal from start. The grey coverage has been excellent though. Better than John Frieda Foam. There was no red/orange undertone seen on my greys. I'm at about 6 weeks now and I'll need to color again soon but now I'm debating what brand/color to use because the 5N just came out way too dark. The next option is 4N, which claims it's blonde. They need a light brown option.

I first used the shade 6N when I wanted to cover some highlights and go darker. The color was stunning! The highlights started to come through a lot after about 2 months so I decided to use shade 5N and I regret it so much! My hair almost came out black! I have used L’Oréal hair dye off and on for years and years and I’ve never had a color come out so bad. Definitely beware.

I took the quiz and this shade was recommended. The examples on the box indicated the color would be a light to medium brownish blonde. I was shocked when I saw my roots turned apricot. I knew this would not turn out good. I did the roots last and followed directions. I hate how it looks! Now I have to go to a salon for corrective coloring, which I was trying to avoid and save money! Also it burned my scalp. Felt like I was putting bleach on instead of color.

I took the quiz for a lighter hair color. It gave me this 7N Dark blonde in the nude category. I thought what the heck I will try it. I can always go darker if needed. I LOVE It!! It is so flattering on me and my husband even said he likes it!!

I struggled with dark blonde/light brown hair that always had too much red after coloring. The shade 7n universal nudes dark blonde looks great for about the first week or 2, but then fades way too light (especially my gray roots) and I have to color again at week 3. I always use L'Oreal shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair.

Easy on and off. I think it's a great product, but needs to be tweaked. Lost some hair color above the forehead, after second wash with cold water and just conditioner. And, lots of hair breakage, afterwards, where I skipped a couple days before using L'Oreal shampoo for dyed hair. Using L'Oreal conditioner, too. Mid 50s, guy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent results! Scent is as expected - can't really escape that. But it did leave my hair smelling very nicely, so I can't complain:) the coverage is great, I had a few gray hairs and it did a great job delivering a consistent color
