A: Lightening is always permanent, you need to bleach to lighten hair- this is bleach :) I believe this bleach is meant to be used with the Colorista line of semi-permanents pastels and bright colors. If you have dark hair, you won't be able to see blue or pink, green, etc. unless you bleach those strands first, so you would use this bleach to lighten the strands or whatever parts of the hair you want the color to show. You can use any bleach to pre-lighten, this one is just part of the same line as the colors- HTH!

Q: Are the instructions to put the bleach powder into the developer then once that is mixed mix in the lightening cream then use the 'conditioner' included? Adding to that question, when can I shampoo my hair after the day of application?

A: Hi kcm5019! Thank you for your interest in Colorista All Over Bleach. A strand test is recommended to determine how long it will take for your hair to reach the desired lightness. Please read your instructions carefully. 2 time it: • Time for 30 minutes. To see if desired end result is achieved, clean a small piece of hair using gloved fingers. Hair should be a pale yellow. If hair is not lightened enough, spread mixture through again and leave on for 5 more minutes. Using your strand test time as a guide, continue to check every 5 minutes until desired lightness is achieved. Do not exceed a total processing time of 60 minutes.

I am a med. brown so I used this to see how I would look with lighter colored hair. Well it worked my hair is almost completely white and light. Unfortunately it also came out by the handfuls.

I did exactly what the instructions said and my hair only somewhat bleached in spots. I have never had issues bleaching my hair but this has proven me wrong . I would not recommend this product to anyone else!

Formula felt dry and I felt incredibly unsure about the coverage during the application process. After leaving it on for the recommended times (up to 1 hour) and rinsing, I was disappointed to see that it made little difference to a majority of my hair. Had it only been this, I would’ve understood since it had been colored, however, my roots (dark brown) saw no change whatsoever; which was concerning since it was entirely new and untouched growth
Buy a bleach kit. Do yourself a favor.

In the past I would lighten my hair with a bleaching kit but this time I decided I wanted less complication with the same results. This product definitely did not do that for me. After 40 minutes my hair had not lightened up in the slightest. It did, however, dry my hair out much like a bleach kit only worse. So I essentially bought this to turn my hair into straw with no other perceivable effect.

Barely turned my our hair a honey brown from a medium brown and a dark brown. We left it on for an hour and a half too. The brass corrector did absolutely nothing.

This is the best one ever I’ll tell you why it’s because it’s ammonia free you can let us sit on your hair for a while and not feel any type of issues which is great thank you for making an ammonia free every single one of them should be ammonia, free, no matter whatof hair color people get

Just finished and followed instructions to a T. My hair is patchy with the entire MIDDLE SECTION of ONE SIDE OF MY HEAD, still brown. I’ve never had this issue with other products. So now I get to wait until I’m in a safe window to find BETTER BLEACH to fix it.. I’ll be walking around in a hat and if anyone asks, I’ll be letting them know what a hot mess this product is..

I’m pregnant and couldn’t make it to the salon store! And when I saw this product was vegan and ammonia free I instantly was like wow ok! And my hair was black I’m going from black to green and it lifted the black so it’s really good bleach and is healthier on your hair!
