At the moment La Roche-Posay Anthelios HA Sunscreen is currently formulated with ingredients that may be animal derived or animal derived by-products. La Roche-Posay is a division of L'Oreal. L’Oréal does not use any ingredient from rare or endangered animal species, nor any ingredient of porcine, bovine or ovine origin; except lanolin (which is taken from live sheep). We use derivatives of raw materials of animal origin in restricted quantities, such as honey, beeswax, lanolin, as well as fish derivatives and poultry egg derivatives. It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue with mineral sunscreens, which are generally thicker than chemical sunscreens and can sometimes leave a white cast, especially on darker skin tones. Mineral sunscreens utilize titanium and/or zinc oxide particles to form a barrier that reflects the sun's rays away from the skin. Because the ingredients stay on the surface of your skin, a white cast can sometimes remain after applying the product. We suggest applying a small amount in the palm of your hands and rubbing them together. Then, apply to one small area at a time, rubbing well. The formula should apply easily leaving a lightweight, non-greasy feel. Keep in mind, all sunscreens should be applied liberally for sun protection.
Leaves white cast on my deeper skin tone.

I don’t think this one is much better than the double tourmaline moisturizer with spf 30, I personally haven’t seen much of a difference and this is more expensive, still works well and applies easily though!

I love this sunscreen! I have acne prone skin and not only does it not make me break out, but it also reduces the appearance and darkness of my pimples. It does have a white cast, but once you rub it in it goes away.

It is too thick. It leaves a white residue. It is not a good substitute for the previous daily moisturizer that has been discontinued.

This is my favorite sunscreen especially now that I’ve started using retinol and need to use it daily. The minerals add an almost “filter” to the skin so I rarely wear makeup when I have it on because my skin looks polished and is protected!

This is a very thick, paint like formula! It took several minutes to try and get it to blend in or melt into my skin but never did. Even so, it leaves a very bad white cast on my tan-tone skin. the texture is so thick I wouldn’t even use it if I did have lighter skin since it would be a hassle to rub in so often

Good mineral sunscreen. I didn’t find it to have a white/chalky cast like other mineral sunscreens and I can easily put makeup on top of it. Moisturizing and good for sensitive skin.

This review IS NOT for the product. It is for Target. I ordered this product and received an expired one. Is it legal to send an expired product to your customers? if I didn't pay attention, I would have ended using an expired product on my face. I would not recommend ordering anything from Target. Pay attention to what you receive because Target tried to sell expired products to customers at full price without any disclosure

Leaves a horrible white cast and my skin is on the lighter side so that usually doesn’t happen for me. It sinks into every single pore and fine line and does not blend at all. The formula is super drying and leaves skin feeling chalky .

These mineral actives are opaque powders, so a 100% mineral sunscreen can leave an ashy, purple or white cast on some skin tones. To help the formula blend into the skin, dispense onto fingers and warm in circular motion, apply onto skin in small sections. Rub well until the formula is no longer visible. I really enjoy this product. It is not greasy, applies very smoothly and evenly, and i have noticed that my very dry and sensitive skin has improved in hydration and texture after using this product for about 4 weeks. I am giving it 4 stars because of the white cast. I cannot wear it alone. Overall this is fine since I wear some sort of base daily, but I would love a tinted version of this!
