Really enjoyed this build. Well designed and excellent value for the price. Another mini fig or two would have been nice, but overall one of my favorite sets.

This set goes well with my Hogsmead village and I am planning to add snow to make it Christmasy. Unfortunately this is my first Lego set where I have had quite a few missing parts. Bag 13 was the worst with several missions parts and many of the roof tiles being the wrong color.

This is my third Lego set as an adult. It is my favourite build so far and is the build that has exploded my new addiction 😂. I had a lot of fun building this one and even spent quite abit of time playing with the staging. My favourite detail would have to be the floor rug in the bedroom and the little light brick in the blacksmiths fire. I’m excited for my next build to arrive!!

I bought this pre-owned and my 5yo son accidentally saw it delivered. I asked him to wait a couple of years until his younger brother was ready to join in for the build. 2 months later he kept insisting so we caved in. He has been building this all by himself!!! We as a family love the medieval theme. Highly recommend, purchased because it was highly rated by others.

I absolutely loved building this set. It was challenging, creative, and full of surprises at every turn. I’m a big fan of all the medieval sets (this is the next door neighbor to the Viking Village). I look forward to continuing with the Lion’s Knight Castle in the future!
Too expensive for an easy build

A beautiful building with a lovely modular construction. My son say it was too easy with repetitive construction- which he found boring . The building looks stunning and the figures are all perfect . It is however not worth the cost

I got this set because I’m a Middle Ages enthusiast. I had never done a set this big before, so I was pleased to find the directions adequate for even an ‘inexperienced’ builder. It’s got lots of fun little details that make it playable and a nice display piece. My main recommendation would be to build on a base plate, the base was flimsy and kept splitting. Everything else is quite sturdy, if I’d known I’d have invested in a big enough base for it to sit on. My other observation is the black vs navy roof tiles are hard to tell apart,.. I still don’t know if I wound up with the intended pattern. Overall it was very fun and looks great displayed!! I loved all the extra bits of armor and such they were fun touches as is the archer mini fig. Great value for the money and time consuming with built in breaks it would be easy to divide up and each builder work on a floor , which is fun.

This is, in my opinion, one of those sets that just absolutely captures the Lego lightning in a bottle. At its best, Lego is whimsical, gentle fun that tells a story and engages you through a compelling building experience. This set hits every single one of those notes. It's a near-perfect piece count: big enough to feel a real sense of accomplishment, not so big that it ever tips over into punishing. The order of operations is terrific - build some structure, pack it with detail, rinse and repeat. The details themselves are tremendous, running the gamut from the adorable dog with a hidden bone, to the bevy of blacksmith's tools and gear, to the beautiful scenery packed in around the shop/home. And I'll never get over the simple delight of a lightbrick. The finished model is beautiful. The Tudor details, the modular approach to the different levels of the house, the gorgeous roof. This is simply one of the best sets I've put in my collection. Highly, highly recommended.
This was a fun set to build

I enjoyed building this set. I love discovering the creative techniques designers use on sets. There was a lot of attention to details - I loved the forge that passed inside and out. I don’t play with sets, I just enjoy constructing them, and this has been on of the more satisfying build. It sits proudly on my window display.

I LOVE this set and have wanted it for some time. When I heard that it might not be around much longer I had to get it (though it cost me an arm and a leg) I only wish I could afford the Big Castle before it vanishes from the shelves.

A lot has been said about the Medieval Blacksmith and with good reason. Incredible set! I purchased when it was first released and recently bought a 2nd copy during Lego’s Insiders Event sale. This new copy is going to be an OG parts pack for my castle MOCs 😀 This set is a stunner. Fully detailed interior, great architecture, great minifigs and accessories, a husky, a wagon, and a horse. This set holds a special place in my Lego cannon for being my first castle set - and gateway to my Lion Knights Castle. It really is as great as they say and an absolute joy to build, display, and “play” with! Happy building ~
Exquisite detail but odd scale and mini combos

Beautiful display set and very fun build. This set invites customization, from redecorating the roof using your own tiles to many MOC designs that entirely transform it medieval village builds. Only demerits are for playability due to (1) the modular scale looks totally silly next to other products like the flagship Lion Knights Castle and the Creator 3 in 1 castles, and (2) the odd choice of minifigure heads, such as an elderly man in Falcon Knight uniform. Men of that advanced age would not have been physically fit enough back in the Medieval ages to still be an effective soldier entrusted with important tasks such as weapon deliveries. Both of these detracts from the set's playability score.

I had resisted this one for a while. I did build the Viking Village beforehand and took on this one next. I was pleasantly surprised. There were differently shaped pieces than I have become used to. My one complaint is that Lego still doesn't do trees very well.
