LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant Building Set 71426

I was very skeptical when my daughter picked this build as a reward for a test, even though I am big Mario fan and even love pety piranha in Mario kart and smash bros, it looked soooooooo simple and even kid like on box. Given the last one we did was the insanely awesome mars perseverance rover, I thought this would be boring. Turns out it was one of most beautifully designed sets under the surface! My 12 yr daughter and I were beyond impressed with the elegant and functional designs and loved seeing a few pieces we haven't come across. I am going to try to find all the sets the design duo have worked on!

For me it constantly leans forward when I move it. Display-wise it's good, smaller than I expected. When I think Piranha plant I think at least 1.5x bigger than this model. It'd be a cute gift for an apartment or something small for a mario lover.

Loved building this! It didn’t take too long but it was fun the whole time. Fits right beside our TV and goes next to our Switch, such a fun theme!

I've recently reached bag 6 in this model set, but unfortunately, the experience has left me with an incomplete and frustrating collection. The design of the head spotty piece, in particular, was laughably flimsy, making it extremely challenging to build and connect. Initially, my son had attempted to construct the set, but when he reached this problematic section, he asked for my assistance. Upon taking a closer look, I quickly realised that this piece was indeed not well-designed. I decided to disassemble the parts my son had already completed, in case there was a missing piece or incorrect construction, but to no avail. After reassembling the parts, I attempted to connect the head spotty piece, but it fell apart. Amused by the situation, I decided to watch a tutorial video to see how others had managed to build this section. To my surprise, the presenter also expressed disappointment with the quality of this particular piece, describing it as "mince" - a rather apt description. Given the poor design of this critical piece, I've decided to keep the set boxed and unbuilt, as it's clear that it's not worth the frustration and stress that comes with trying to assemble it. Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper with this particular model set.

While I absolutely love this plant and the super Mario villains, the plant is incredibly top heavy and if it moves forward it falls, along with the the white lips being too tight on the other pieces, causing them to pop out and having to rebuild the entire top part and trying to find a solution. Otherwise I quite like this silly plant, and like how it looks. Otherwise, make the base static, everything else can move but the base is not needed to be a piggy bank. That and the design of the head is everything that’s wrong, but I genuinely do like how it’s made.

I’ve rebuild this thing 3 times because it has no stability. It constantly falls apart in your hand once you get to the head of the plant. Finally got it together and moved the head to open the mouth and it quite literally fell apart. Worse Lego I have EVER built let alone had.

We had lots of fun with this build. In the end it looks really good and is a great addition. The price point is a tiny bit too much for the brick count (still worth it though). We also find the weight balance is off a bit too, it fell over a couple times. All and all, this was great :)

I have the super Mario 64 question mark block too and when I saw this set I decided that it would look perfect next to it. It was a fun build and how accurate it is was cool. This set is good for any Mario fan who wants a small yet awesome set in their collection.

I absolutely enjoyed the entire experience. The build is actually moveable in multiple ways that I like . It also makes a beautiful display piece.

The box is completely damaged. I bought this as a birthday gift. It's completely damaged and smashed.

I love the green and red shades of the bricks. My favorite thing is how posable the model is. It’s fun to try and come up with the next pose that conveys how my Piranha Plant is feeing at the moment. Highly recommend this set!

So excited for this on Christmas Day! He’s been wanting it

So it is nice… but there is a piece that constantly falls out on the bottom of the plant's head… the top of the plant’s head has the exact same setup pieces, yet it stays in way better (although it is janky also) it at least stays in to a degree…

Although the box indicated this kit was for ages 18+, I thought I would let my 7 year old grandson give it a try to build this. It took him 6 hours to complete the project with no help. He was so proud that he could construct a LEGO that was made for an 18 year old

The only flaw is the top red part of the piranha plant is only connected to the rest with a very small piece. And the top piece is quite heavy, definitely too heavy to be held on by essentially a 1x1, I’ve had it disconnect and fall apart at the connection point multiple times when trying to play with and position the plant. Speaking of weight, for the brief moments the plant is able to have its mouth pointed up, it does not stay upright due to its weight and the way it is attached to the stem. With these restrictions, it is more so a pretty display piece than a playable toy

This was a absolute pleasure to build. Iconic! Lots of fun to watch it come together.

Bought this set for my son's 12th birthday and he loves it

Bought this on a bit of a whim as my son had bought me a voucher for Fathers day. Built and fits in nicely with the nintendo entertainment system as TV (also in lego), it's a lovely display.
