A Reliable and Beautiful Dutch Oven

I recently purchased the Lodge 7.5qt Cast Iron Enamel Dutch Oven in Blue, and I must say, it has quickly become one of my favorite kitchen tools. Here's why I highly recommend this dutch oven: Quality and Durability: Lodge is known for their high-quality cast iron products, and this dutch oven lives up to that reputation. The cast iron construction provides excellent heat retention and even heat distribution, ensuring consistent cooking results. The enamel coating not only adds a pop of vibrant blue color but also enhances durability and prevents rust. This dutch oven is built to last for generations. Versatility: The Lodge 7.5qt Cast Iron Enamel Dutch Oven is incredibly versatile. I've used it for various cooking methods, including baking, roasting, braising, and simmering. It works equally well on stovetops, in ovens, and even over campfires. From hearty stews to artisan bread, this dutch oven can handle it all. Easy to Clean: Contrary to what some may think, cleaning this dutch oven is a breeze. The enamel coating makes it non-stick, so food doesn't stick to the surface. Most of the time, a simple soak and gentle scrub with a soft sponge are sufficient to remove any residue. It's important to avoid using harsh abrasives or metal utensils that could damage the enamel. Generous Size: The 7.5-quart capacity of this dutch oven is perfect for cooking for a large family or entertaining guests. It provides ample space for soups, stews, and even whole chickens. The heavy lid fits snugly and seals in flavors and moisture, resulting in deliciously tender and flavorful dishes. Beautiful and Functional Design: The blue enamel finish of this dutch oven adds a touch of elegance to my kitchen. It looks great both on the stovetop and when serving food directly from the pot to the table. The loop handles on the sides and the knob on the lid are well-designed and provide a secure grip, even with oven mitts. In summary, the Lodge 7.5qt Cast Iron Enamel Dutch Oven in Blue is a reliable and beautiful addition to any kitchen. Its quality construction, versatility, ease of cleaning, and generous size make it a must-have for cooking enthusiasts. I highly recommend this dutch oven for its exceptional performance and durability.

Only holds 5qt of liquid. I thought it felt small while using it and it’s the wrong one. The box says 7.5qt but the pot inside is definitely not. Otherwise great Dutch oven and will change the review when I can (hopefully) get this one replaced.

We have had an aluminum Dutch oven for years. A recipe called for a non-reactive Dutch oven, so rather than risk a bad outcome, I found this Lodge Dutch oven recommended by Consumer Reports and located one in stock at our local Target. Worked great and my wife even likes the color.

I bought this online and had it shipped for my sister for her birthday! I love buying functional birthday gifts that people will use a lot. She said it’s a beautiful color and she will use it weekly. She said it cooks evenly as well.

Beautiful blue color. 7.5 qt is HUGE! The only thing I’m disappointed about is I didn’t get one of those felt pot savers in the box like it showed, I did get four rubber clip holders for the lid to sit nicely over the pot when not in use. I look forward to this autumn when I make my family famous beef stew!
Love my new Lodge!

I know she doesn’t really “go” with my kitchen, but she’s darn pretty. I’ve used once and it was a dream to cook in and easy to clean up. I got the 7.5, but truthfully should have gone with the smaller 6 size, even for my family of 5. This sucker is big!!!! I’ll be able to cook a full roast or full rotisserie chicken in this. It’s heavy but it’s cast iron, so that’s to be expected. Looking forward to cooking many, many dinners in this, without costing hundreds of dollars for the other 2 brands.

I have a 5 qt Le Creuset oval dutch oven, but needed something bigger for family meals. I didn't want to spend $400 on one, but saw this was Wirecutter's recommendation. It's true - Lodge cooks just as well for 1/4 of the price! I highly recommend.
