Description
The SM-4008 offers a full range of comprehensive resistance training options for all fitness goals. The Smith-style press bar with adjustable safety stops allows you to perform a variety of powerful strength training workouts. These workouts include smith machine squats, presses, and more.
Use the SM-4008 as a power cage by taking advantage of the pull-up bar for more upper body workouts. The unit also includes bar catches and safety catches to be used with an Olympic Barbell (sold separately.)
An independent motion upper pulley system allows for cable crossovers. The same pulley’s vertical movement also provides resistance for the pec deck. And, the pulley is not dependent on patented weight stack plates, simply use the standard or Olympic plates you currently own.
Continue building muscle throughout your body with the included leg developer. The leg developer allows you to strengthen your lower body through leg extensions and leg curls. The adjustable back pad expands your exercise options by providing multiple back pad angles. Transform your bench presses into an incline or decline bench press by adjusting the bench included with the SM-4008.
The solid construction of the SM-4008 is made of 14-gauge square steel tubing. The structure itself includes four convenient storage posts. The storage posts make it easy to organize your plates within arms reach of your workout.

Great little home gym, it gets the job done. The instructions were pretty difficult to follow at first, so i procrastinated putting it together but once i got the hang of it- it didnt take long definitely need two people to assemble, no complaints using it, other than the cables are really stiff but expected it.

Set up was not the easiest. the plastic guideline parts I broke about 7-8 of these. Extremely flimsy and even after setting them in a pot of hot water to try and soften them up they still broke on install. The pec fly portion of the machine is pretty much useless, the resistance on it is just not quite right plus the set back is a tad too far back to get the correct leverage on it. The smith machine feels a bit weak when using it but it gets the job done. the cable pulls also get the job done but again the resistance feels a bit off especially compared to commercial equipment, perhaps needs some more use to get it feeling more smooth when pulling (I have lubricated every part heavily already) but again; it works. Overall, its a good product and meets my needs but as someone that has been a gym goer for a little over 15 years it leaves a bit to be desired. For the price Id say you are getting your moneys worth though. Its nice that it comes with a lot of the handles in the package. The adjustable bench works good. The seated pulls work good, no complaints there. I wouldnt disuade anyone from getting this but i would consider spending a little extra cash for something you might feel is more solid though. 3 stars.

Like many others have stated, difficult to assemble and instructions are vague in some areas. However, it seems the more I use it the better it performs. Be sure to grease all pulleys and areas that slide for better results.

We purchased this unit because the one we really wanted (MD-9010G) which we have at our TN home was not in stock. I didnt notice when I placed the order that it did not come with the curl bar on the bench. Over all it is a good machine but just not as good as the other unit. It does take a while to put together but not to bad. Seems to be very sturdy.

Very happy with the quality and performance of this machine. It is definitely a little complicated to put together, but once you do it is solid, strong and versatile. I have been having great workouts since I started using it. This is a machine that will last and last.

Machine is nice and works great. Instructions are hard to follow and make sure to have a hardware store close to buy bolts and nuts.

I received this product last week put it together by myself in 7 total hours between 2 days. Had so many different options for work outs. One defective part was one of the metal bars for the weight storage, called Marcy and the sent a replacement part instantly. Would say the pulley system will need some lube, very stiff without once applied worked perfectly. Would definitely recommend this product!!

I would say first this is a 4.9 of 5. Only because of 2 things. The directions for assembly dont have steps labeled and ya end up undoing and redoing stuff and the leg extension/curl bar is floppy .. meaning it isnt secure and stable where you are putting the weights on. When you do a rep it flops and I feel over time it might break off or something as the hole that the bar goes in to on the weights side is shaped different than the bar. Beyond that its absolutely amazebombs... please find a solution Marcy for this, maybe a sleeve or re-engineer that outer hole to be round like the bar...

I really like the product for the price as it has everything I wanted for my home gym. My only complaint (more like a suggestion) is that I wish they would include a quality grease or at least give a recommendation for what would work best. Without using something on the rails the up and down motions are a little strained.
Simplify Instructions of putting machine together

It would help greatly if the instructions on putting the machine together were put in a more simple step by step basis. We bought a ProForm bike and the instructions were step by step as well as labeled for bolts etc to match each piece. This made it very easy to put parts together. The instructions for MarcyPro make it a very overwhelming process to put it together. For example the first page of putting the machine together could scare anyone away. The outcome of the machine is a good machine overall and easy to use. Five âï¸s on that.
