[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our first modular Matchbox playset, and it immediately made us want to pick up more of them to connect and expand our new city. The whole thing snaps together easily, and the stickers stay applied very well. The terminal/hangar door springs open with a pressure switch, which is super fun. The car and plane are Matchbox's typical fantastic quality, although the plane is made of plastic instead of die-cast metal. That doesn't stop it from working perfectly with the set's best feature, the arm on the tower that brings it in for a landing! We can't wait to add on to this scene! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really nice airport playset. Tons of different ways to play and enjoy. My kids are ages 2 and 3 and they are captivated with this set. They love airplanes and helicopters and how this can create opportunities for pretend play and entertainment. This is easily one of their favorite toys. It is sturdy and well built enough that it seems likely to hold up to their somewhat rough handling.

It is easy to pick up and take elsewhere to play due to its compact size. The airplane attaches with a clip attached to the lever on the Control Tower. The airplane spins from the top to the bottom and "lands". We even used the opposite end from the airplane clip to "fly" the airplane up and down. This airport has an hangar with a door that works. There are gas pumps and a lever that lifts up so the blue vehicle can drive through. The airport is made of sturdy plastic. The airplane and vehicle are metal. They're just the right size for little hands. . My grandson keeps bringing it out everyday to play with it. It really holds my Grandson's attention. The airport is pretty easy to assemble but there are lots of small labels to apply. I am so pleased with the Matchbox Takeoff Adventure Playlset!! Please make more sets like this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loves the Matchbox Takeoff Adventure set. She was obsessed with the little man who pops out of the check in door. It's such a simple but cool feature. She also loves the whirling plane feature with the arm swinging the plane around the control tower. I've been impressed with how sturdy the set is. I'll admit, it was a bit challenging to put together.I also wish the stickers were already added to the base, but I understand why they're not. Nevertheless, my daughter keeps coming back to the airport. She likes putting the car and plane in the garage, especially with the interactive door. Overall, it's a solid set.

It has so many features and the details are awesome. He plays with the airplane and the car that came with it. I would definitely recommend this product.

The spinning tower that holds the airplane is a great feature and sturdy. It added a whole new level of play. It's great that both cars and planes can be played with this set. The added moving parts are also fun. They loved being able to lift up the plane hangar door and drive through the lanes and filling up the cars with gas.

It includes a car and an airplane. You can attach the airplane to the tower easily to have it “fly”. Easy to use, it has a garage to park the plane and an area for the passengers to be picked up and dropped off. The most time it took to assemble was just applying the stickers to the correct spots, after that it went by fast. Engaging, bright colors as usual and always fun.

The airplane that winds up to take off, or winds down to land the little guy that “opens” the door when you arrive. It is easy to break down and rebuild if you want to store it in a bin. My kids (and me) really love it!

From flying the airplane around in his hands, to connecting it to fly and land with the playset. It has a garage he used not only for the plane, but also for his other Matchbox vehicles. Also has roads, gates, fuel, and a check-in dude at the door.

As a family that is hyping up an upcoming air plane ride, this toy has been able to allow us to create realistic expectations while having fun. The best part about this item is that it connects to other Matchbox sets, which allows your children to create a full city experience.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fun toy for toddlers. Assembly was easy with clear instructions. Holds children’s attention and gives lots of dimension with the movement aspect of the plane/ tower that spins around and the car that you can drive around on the base.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The set was well packaged and easy to open and unbox, but it requires assembly. The instructions were mostly clear, but the process was lengthy and not kid friendly. It took us about 30 minutes to complete assembly. The instructions include the application of some incredibly tiny stickers, as well as stickers on difficult surfaces like the rounded control tower. The stickers give you one shot to apply, so if you make a mistake you'll need to break out the scotch tape. The instructions also omit what to do with three pieces. They're not hard to figure out, but it's worth noting. This set has a very limited number of play functions. The plane flies/lands and the hangar door can be manually opened/closed. It comes with both a plane and a car, which is very welcome, but the set ultimately feels a little light. The most glaring omission is the complete lack of sound. Unlike most other Matchbox play sets, this one has no sound. It seems really obvious that pressing the tower should have resulted in the playing of some takeoff/landing related speech and sounds. Many other sets also include lighting elements that this set lacks. Lighting the control tower or the runway seems like another obvious miss. Speaking of the control tower, the tower is lubricated to ensure that it spins correctly. Unfortunately, it appears to come a little over lubricated from the factory as our tower seems to leak a little bit of black lubricant whenever it is spun. We expect this will diminish over time. The theme is a huge draw, and my kids are still enjoying the set, but the lack of function and lights/sounds is a glaring omission that impacts the fun and results in the toy being less than it could be.

Our favorite toys! My son has loved the idea of playing with his cars in this city. It gives him the chance to be imaginative and I like that we can keep buying more to build onto the city. It is made of good quality and this one in particular is large! This has really grown with my son since he was 3. He’s how 6.5 and still plans daily with this and the other parts of his city.

The set includes one die-cast car and one plastic airplane which seems a little flimsy compared to the car, but that is not a dealbreaker for us. There were a lot of pieces and stickers to assemble before it could be used. The instruction booklet is all black and white which made sticker placement a little tricky. Their favorite parts so far have been the door that opens to reveal the attendant and being able to really “fly” the plane by attaching it to the clip on the tower.

They have a ton of matchbox cars that they play with in every way possible every day, but this was our first play set. It was easy to assemble, the kids actually intuitively knew where the pieces went. Some of the stickers were a bit fiddly but they are not essential for use. I love that the toy is both active and passive. Most of the play still revolves around their imagination and active movement of the cars, but there are some fun features like the plane coming in for a landing and the passenger coming out for their ride. The kids noticed right away that there were spots to connect it with other sets so i already know what they want for their birthdays. The pieces are made of durable plastic and fit together easily. It also disassembles easily for storage. They will spend hours with this airport set.

There is plenty of room to roll cars, a clip on the control tower to "fly" planes, and a bunvh of other fun airport details to play with. My five year old loves it.
