I was always a Dewalt person, but I thought I would try the Metabo since I have some grinders that have lasted far longer than I thought. first thing is the battery charges in no time flat and the tool shows you the status of the battery life, the final thing is the ease to clean out a jam at the nose end.

The Metabo HPT 18V Cordless 18-Gauge Compact Brad Nailer has truly impressed me with its performance and ease of operation. This tool is both powerful and efficient, able to drive 5/8" to 2" 18-gauge brad nails at a speed of up to 2 nails per second, with no ramp-up time needed. Thanks to its brushless motor, it provides longer battery life, requires less maintenance, and offers increased durability, making it ideal for both professional and DIY tasks. One of its most notable features is its lightweight design, which allows for extended use without causing strain on your forearm, a big advantage during longer nailing projects. The integrated light is also a great addition, staying on at all times, which is particularly useful in low-light areas like closets to ensure accurate placement of nails. The battery performance is another highlight. It lasts significantly longer than I anticipated, and the auto shutoff function helps save energy when the tool is not in use. I also figured out the correct technique (pull the trigger and then push the tool), which solved my initial problem of nails not setting properly. The tool is easy to maneuver as well—while the left side offers low clearance for tight spots, the right side is a bit bulkier, which can make corner access tricky. In those cases, simply flipping the tool upside down works perfectly. The included carry bag is another thoughtful touch, making it convenient to store and transport the nailer, charger, and battery. In comparison to the Milwaukee model, the Metabo HPT has a few distinct advantages. Although the Milwaukee features a larger adjustment wheel, the Metabo HPT is lighter, making it easier to handle for longer periods without fatigue. Additionally, it is compatible with both 18V and 36V MultiVolt batteries, offering greater flexibility, particularly if you already have other Metabo tools. The Metabo HPT NT1850DF also features a handy low battery indicator, with a red light flashing when the battery runs low, so you’re always aware of its charge status. All in all, this brad nailer combines exceptional performance, ease of use, and outstanding durability. Its compact size, versatility, and advanced features make it an excellent choice for both professionals and DIYers alike.

I purchased this in December on a whim…. Since purchasing- I have used it on several jobs. NO MORE CARRYING AIR COMPRESSOR! This gun worked just like my air version without an air hose getting in the way. I should have purchased one of these a long time ago. I will be shopping for 15 gauge or 16 gauge cordless in the future

I have been using the 15 gauge pneumatic nailer both Hitachi and Metabo branded for many flawless years, they are godsends. The 18g A5 series nailer is amazing, however on sites without power or when you need to go cordless, the 18v 18g is the bees knees! It nails 2” pins/ brads if you will into soft woods all day long and fires into cedar with ease, I’m sure in harder woods you’d be good to go!

Initially I was skeptical of whether or not a cordless nailer would be able to keep up with the demands of a professional carpenter. This nailer proved that those concerns were unfounded. It drives nails well into hardwoods and softwoods alike, lasts forever on a 2ah battery, and has made my job easier and QUIETER. I do mostly remodel work and I know our customers are glad to not hear a compressor roaring to life at 8am in their kitchen. It's also really nice to not have to roll out air in order to tack a few pieces of trim on. It's heavier than a traditional 18ga. air nailer but the benefits of being cordless outweigh that. I'd recommend this nailer to anyone, DIYer or Pro alike. The convenience factor is through the roof and it's more than powerful enough to tackle any job you throw at it.

I’ve had this nail gun for about half a year now. It’s really a fantastic nail-gun. It’s fairly light as far as cordless nail guns go, which makes it easier to carry all day. One 2.0 or 3.0 battery will usually last me all day putting in trim. I actually don’t remember ever having a nail jam with this particular gun either. It’s light, it’s powerful, and I don’t even bring along a backup compressor and nailgun anymore. Even if you’re not on the Metabo HPTbattery system, their nail guns alone are worth investing into their batteries.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently purchased this nail gun, And i am already blown away by the consistency of sinking nails and the overall comfort of the tool, feels well balanced in the hand and isn't ridiculously heavy like some other cordless nail guns. Definitely recommend

My wife bought me this nailer for me as an anniversary gift. I used it to build her a built in bookcase. Using the gun was super straightforward and adjusting/reloading was very user friendly. 10/10 would recommend for any DIYer’s garage.

I love this 18ga nailer! It has just worked for me, and I love not having to have a hose for finish work. I still use a compressor and hose for framing because of speed and capacity, but finish work is a different story. I love that I am able to put of trim, beadboard, etc in clients' houses and not have to bring in my compressor, hoses, etc. I've only had great experience with Metabo HPT's pneumatic nailers so I figured I would give their Brad nailer a shot and it has been amazing. Looking to try the 15ga nailer soon as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this nailer. It’s been a great addition to my collection of Metabo HPT tools. I also have their pneumatic 18 gauge nailer, but this one is great for those quick jobs where it’s a pain to bring out the compressor. Like all Metabo HPT tools, the comfort and ergonomics are second to none. Depth adjustment is easy to use and it has both single fire and bump fire modes. The tool is very easy on the battery - you can fire a lot of nails before needing to worry about changing the battery out. Overall, another great tool from MHPT.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This brad nailer is awesome. it sinks 18 GA brads perfectly every time. Metabo HPT has long been know for making the best nailers in the industry. This remains true for their cordless nailers. Get one and leave your compressor and hose at home!

There’s a reason team ketchup dang near directly copied the mhpt nailers. Mhpt wrote the book on cordless nailers and with good reason their regarded as the best cordless and pneumatic nailer companies..All the framing 18v and 36v are great along with the duplex and mc as well as the nt1865dm 15g and nt1865 16g and nt1850de 18g 1are all winners but stay away from their 23 gauge tho it’s not great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this few months ago to speed up baseboard installations as my Dewalt 18g just isn't fast enough, seems the motor over heats. that is where this compact version comes into play I would say it is 50-60% faster with no ramp up time. Only negative is sometimes it leaves a proud nail but the speed makes up for it.

I got this cordless brad nailer a few months ago, and it has been phenomenal. I also own a pneumatic brad nailer, but I pretty much never use it anymore now that I have the Metabo. The nailer is powerful, sets the brads consistently, and is surprisingly lightweight and balanced as compared to other cordless brad nailers I have held/used. I especially love how easy it is to just pick up and use for those cases where you need 4-5 brads to be fired and don't have to get out a compressor and all the accessories to be able to do it. I highly recommend this nailer.
