Q: I’ve had this fridge for 4 days. Since the first day of using the fridge it has ice starting to build up. I shut it down cleaned it and turned on to lowest setting and it’s still forming. Is this normal?
A: Yes, that’s how a manual defrost works. Dorm fridges are not meant to last. Apparently students use them for one year then get new ones. Except for right after you defrost it, there is always SOME ice. You will have to defrost when the ice gets to be half an inch. This is one of the ways they keep the cost of a dorm frig cheap. At mid century, our mothers and grandmothers did it once a month on a BIG frig. It’s really not that big a deal

Q: Please advise as to room at the very bottom; need to know if it is less than what is above if the shelves are removed. For example, is there a "hump" towards bottom rear that would cause less space?
A: So how much room is between where door meets frame and the "hump"? That is the reason for the question in the first place.
submitted bykidpocono - 9 months agoA: Hello kidpocono, thank you for your question regarding our Midea 4.4 cu ft Compact Refrigerator.
