Q: can i connect to a PC?
submitted by Bart - 2 years ago
A: Hello! Thank you for contacting us. Regarding your inquiry, you can use this with a PC but you may need to use a 3.5mm Stereo Male to 2 RCA Male cable as most computers have a 3.5 mm jack.

Bought to see the quality for a budget system (2-channel) Hoked it up to 2 sources to compare quality and sound/Feel. Seemed a little weak but I'm used to more powerful subs. Did a break in period of about 5-6 hours with Classic rock. Driver seemed to break-in in that short amount of time. re-boxed it and gave it to a person that was wanting to add a Subwoofer to their system. Was over the top on the performance of this Subwoofer. I added that I only did the initial break-in and using it more could increase the performance.

Terrible!! Had to return it. Couldn't get any sound (except a low hum) from it. I attached it to my receiver with RCA connections, a Y splitter and with speaker wire, but none worked.
Good sound, good value

Got this on sale shipped and everything for $80. For that price it is def worth it... however... it just doesn't have much thump. I swapped it with a 25 year old JBL 10" powered sub on my 5.1 home theater and was instantly disappointed. Doesn't hold a candle to the JBL. It's just not very loud. I will prob get a small amp to get more juice to it. That being said it was VERY well packed, arrived quickly and looks nice.
You get aloT for $75 when on sale

Really nice box! My thought was that if it sounded terrible, I would rip out the woofer and maybe the amp and put in a nicer woofer and use a real amp. Unfortunately the woofer I wanted to use requires a 12.25" hole and the routed out hole in this box is only 12" in diameter Could try to route the hole in this bigger... That would not be fun, or maybe it would...? The unit, out of the box works, it produces pretty bad sounding bass and lots of it, but it doesn't seem to go really low. Just lots of 80-100Hz. Whaterver low bass is there is covered up by the booming 80-100Hz. I plugged up the port and it was better but still no low bass. Amp hums and seems to really distort the low end. I will either order another one and gut out and put in new woofers and use a different amp, or do something else... The $75 is worth it just for the box!

During that one hour it was not very loud. I hope the return/refund process is better.
Deep bass, no rattling, no distortion; volume required setting to 3/4

Sound was clear, but this sub's amplifier seems a little weak. I removed a Yamaha 10" sub which I transferred to our bedroom--but this one needed a higher volume setting. That said, it fills our small living-room quite nicely. Looks nice with front grille removed--the side-ported Yamaha (with non-removable speaker grille) didn't have the impressive bottom-ported, sans-grille appearance of the Monoprice. The Yamaha's rounded-edge speaker grille easily collected dust, but the Monoprice grill's thinness and easy removability makes it a better choice for keeping up appearances. But overall, I'm convinced the Monoprice is a better value, with better bass fidelity than the Yamaha.

After the amps died on both my AR-1, 15" subwoofers I decided to buy 2 of the 12" subs. They are fantastic! Couldn't ask for a better alternative! Plus the price was fantastic!
Great price & performance!

I would echo Gerardo C's recent comment - I also had a 12" Infinity sub that died some time ago, and did not realize what I was missing. Nicely double-boxed and padded, it arrived in perfect condition and, thus far, no issues. At a sale price, you can't beat this for value and performance!
Wouldn't recommend to a friend.

You get what you pay for. The cabinet walls are thin and I don't know if there's even any bracing inside. It's really light weight for it's size. Cheap sub, sounds like a cheap sub. Not at all musical. Not a good match for towers on a home theater. Not deep enough or loud enough for home theater use at all really. A 2.1 setup might be ok, or use it to fill in the low end for a desktop setup... but you'll have a huge sub under your desk that really isn't that loud or deep. I listen to a lot of different music, some with really deep bass that this sub cannot touch. Doesn't even try to move at 30Hz or below. It starts to move around 40Hz but no real useful volume until 50Hz. Scratch that... no real useful volume at all TBH

I was in the market for a new subwoofer. My 20 year old Infinity 12" decided to quit working ( I am in the process of buying parts for it). So I saw this 12" sub at a fraction of the cost. I was surprised at what a difference it was to watch movies with a sub once more. The sound that comes from it is super nice. The only problem I had was one of the legs was bent a little, but I have worked with cabinetry to fix the issue with no problem. I also added a little screen on the bottom to keep any dirt or insects out. i am super happy with this sub, A++~!!

This sub survived Hurricane Ida. Water came up at least 6 inches. The sub powered through no issues. Excellent value and built like a tank!!
Not recommended - has constant humming/buzzing

I purchased this subwoofer to replace one that stopped working. Since this is for a smaller room with a smaller TV, I didn't want to spend the extra for a high-end unit. I found this one as a low-cost option, but regret the purchase. It has a constant humming/buzzing sound when in use. I never had this issue with my previous subwoofer that was in the same location using the same electrical outlet as this one. Disappointed with this purchase. Not recommended.
