Having tried Natural Instincts in the past, I was hesitant to try again, but because it seemed the best Clariol option for me, I tried again with a different color. First, the directions are super simple. I love that the product is easy to use and gives nice color without a million steps. Second, I greatly appreciated that the usual chemical-y ammonia scent was barely noticeable. My biggest reason for not dying my hair often is the smell, because I can't stand it. Natural Instincts has a gentle scent and makes dying your hair much more tolerable when it comes to scent. Last, the color looked great immediately application. My hair had a dark espresso tint that naturally complimented my normal, no-dye color. However, I felt the color was a little untrue to the box-promised results after just a few days of fading. My hair also felt dry for a few days afterward, so I had to go a little heavy on the leave-in conditioner for a while. All in all a good product. First of all, my color isn't listed so I just picked the closest color. I used 23R (medium auburn). Not sure what to say about this product other than it didn't work for me at all. I definitely got the correct color in order to add a little red to my hair. I followed the directions to a T. After everything was said & done, there wasn't an ounce of color in my hair. The Clairol MyShade app suggested I try this color to achieve my dream look. The application process was easy and I excitedly waited as the dye sat in my hair. When I washed it out and looked in the mirror, I didn't see the "bright auburn brown" advertised on the box. My plain brown hair looked darker, with no hints of red. The Clairol Natural Instincts is my new favorite go to hair dye. Its simple, quick and easy which is a big plus for me. It doesnt have a real strong smell so that is one of my favorite things about this haor dye. I recommended it to my mom and friends and now they love it too. My only complaint is that my roots were already dark so it turned them a dark auburn color. Overall this is an amazing product and I will use this product from now on. I was worried that it would not turn out the way I wanted. I loved that there was not a strong chemical smell. And I was able to get any access paint off easy from my skin. The conditioner included also made my hair feel great. Nice and soft. The color turned out great. And I am very satisfied with the result. I love using this type of hair color! It's gentle on my hair (and my nose), and can be done quickly and without the need of other helping hands. This product doesn't have a strong smell, and the final look is just great! This hair dye came out pretty well and it's nice that's it's ammonia free since it is less damaging for the hair. My hair is a little damaged from previous hair dying, but this didn't leave my hair feeling noticeably dryer or anything. Didn't seem like the color lasted very long though. It faded to a lighter shade than dyed really fast (less than one week). Overall, this was a nice product and I would use it again just because it didnt seem to damage my hair at all. Also, it seems there are more colors to choose from in the Natural Instincts selection than the regular Clairol hair dyes which was nice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The coverage was nice and even. I love that it only took 10 minutes to completely cover my grey hair. After rinsing, my hair felt was so rough, very dry and tangled.
