NERF Pro Sender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A message to the moms out there - this thing is NO JOKE. My 14 year old tried it and ran to me to tell me how legit it is. This thing could take out an eye!! It is powerful!! When they say 14+ they are serious! That being said, my son is old enough to handle it and he and his friends think it is awesome. 14 year old boy review “this thing is freakin awesome! It hurts to get hit, like paintball! So fun!.” It’s a great gift for older kids that like to be active!

The Sender is a good entry-level, semi-auto, half-length dart blaster. When Nerf released the Nerf Pro Stryfe X a year ago, I wanted one, but the $110+ price tag was too much. At $50, this was much more affordable. Also comes with 15 extra darts, so you can lose a few in the couch cushions and still be able to fill the magazine. The box advertises 150 feet-per-second, about 50% higher than Rival and about twice the fps of most Nerf Elite blasters. I don't have a chronograph, so can't say for sure, but the darts are moving quickly when fired. The accuracy is markedly better than Nerf Elite and at least a step above Nerf Accustrike darts. In my opinion, at 30' to 40', their accuracy is on par with Rival rounds. I did experience a few "whirlygig" rounds, spinning out of control, but vast majority flew fairly straight. One nice feature is the short stock can be removed to reveal an N-Strike style stock attachment point. So, if you have any older Nerf Elite stocks laying around, you can use them with this blaster. I suggest sticking with the age recommendations of 14+. The higher fps means the darts will hit pretty hard, at least at close range. The Sender also has a fairly stiff trigger pull - younger kids will find it hard to fire. While on the topic of the trigger, the main complaint I have is in the design of the blaster around the trigger. The trigger is small and the opening around it cramped my older adult finger. This and the stiff trigger could shorten the length of time I'd want to play with this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you to Influenster and Hasbro for letting me try this Nerf gun in exchange for my honest review. This Pro Sender is now joke. Before using I found that it takes 8 AA batteries. We only use rechargeable batteries, so I made sure they were all freshly charged before installing. Once the batteries were in, we loaded up the magazine. It is only supposed to hold 15 bullets. I was easily able to fit more than that, but removed them to not cause any problems. We set up some foam targets on the deck railing and took turns shooting. When we first turned it on to shoot we were startled by how loud it is. Turns out that my kids have horrible aim, and with how fast those bullets fly, they went across the yard, through the trees, and we lost some in the park. Or maybe in the tree. I was able to hit the target, but it was so fast, the target fell down, and the bullet shot back at us and hit my daughter in the shoulder. My oldest didn’t believe how hard the gun would shoot and asked his sister to shoot him in the back. The picture with pink mark is being shot from about ten feet away.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Nerf Pro gun set is great. My youngest son had so much fun playing with this toy. He would set up targets and then use all the nerf bullets. It’s also very safe and easy to use. I even found myself as an adult playing with it. We even got another one just to challenge each other with it. This product is a great family toy that doesn’t discriminate against how old you are. I love how fast the bullets come out. Such a great product. I will definitely recommend to all my family and friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Nerf Gun exceeded all the expectations that I had. For me, Nerf guns were always something that younger kids use, for at some point it just got a bit boring when the darts would only shoot at 1 foot per second and you could literally just walk out of the way. That's why, after some time, most people transition to games like Paintball and Airsoft. However, having been to multiple Paintball games, blowing a fortune on renting the field and equipment always puts somewhat of a damper on the experience. But, this Nerf gun doesn't only look like it's made from alien technology (something my kids really liked about it), I think it actually IS made by aliens. I have never seen a more powerful Nerf gun in my life. The new, smaller darts travel A LOT faster and pack a much bigger punch than any of the traditional Nerf darts. Getting shot at a close range, I genuinely could not tell the difference between that and paintballs. Sure, a paintball gun could probably shoot farther, but at a closer range it hurts just as much! So, I suppose don't get this gun if you're looking for a soft fight, but I believe that this could change Nerf's market from young kids to teenagers, and even adults. Why spend half a thousand on a game of paintball, when you can buy a few of these guns and get close to the same experience? Overall, the design of the gun is really nice, it goes with that alien theme that I mentioned, and it is quite easy to use. I'd like for there to be more storage in the magazine, though, but that might make it a bit too overpowered :)

I like that they includes safety glasses with this set up and extra bullets. They are very easy to set up and get moving. Great set up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Make sure to heed the warnings on this nerf gun because this is NOT for children. This is for people who compete and play in tournament level battles, not for funsies at home. The darts are shorter and come out at much higher velocity and HURT when they hit you. Wear the safety goggles and make sure others do too. My 10 year old was excited about this but I had to take it from him for a few years until he’s not liable to use his little sister as a target. That said, it made well and looks great.

The only downfall is it does take 8 batteries so make sure you have them on hand. This pro nerf gun is 100x better than the “old” one my boys said. The way the gun shots, the accuracy, and the materials used don’t feel cheap. I would make sure you have extra padding on for safety how fast these bullets shot do sting a little. Have fun!!

It definitely is not your average nerf gun. It is for much older and experienced kids. I am pleased to see that it comes with safety glasses which ensures eye protection. It comes with 30 rounds, enough to fill two magazines. My son and husband have had a lot of fun playing around with it. Definitely recommend going outside though, lol. Those darts really fly! Oversll, you get a great quality product for an unbeatable price. Definitely worth it.
