submitted byJon Perrault - 5 years agoA: A serving is 8 oz. It says 53 servings, so that is 44 ounces. There is 133 oz in a gallon, so one canister makes a little over 3 gallons of milk.

Q: How long does this NIDO Fortificada remain good in a sealed can and how soon does it need to be used after opening?

A: If it's labeled as Product of Mexico, a sealed NIDO Fortificada has a shelf life 12 months. However, if it's labeled as Product of Chile, its shelf life is of 18 months. The shelf life after open is 2 months for both.

Q: Is this only for kids or can adults drink this? Since it's the pandemic, it's risky to constantly grab milk in the stores. I'm trying to see if there's an alternative.

I use it in my coffee mixes. I make my dry coffee, sugar & milk mix (no water)to carry, then when I want coffee, scoop a certain amount of mix into a cup/glass, add water, mix, then I'm "good to go"!! Been doing this for years. Very convenient, especially when driving long trips.

I make my own hot cocoa mix for my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I have used Nido Fortificada Dry Whole Milk for years in my recipe. The result is a much creamier cocoa than mix made with nonfat dry milk and better than any commercial cocoa mix. Every fall I make a huge batch, using two large cans of Nido, in preparation for winter. As my grandchildren have become adults, they still like to get a jar of my cocoa mix every Christmas.

It matches the food label of regular cold milk. No added sugars or fillers. Great transition from formula to milk at 12 months. Creamy flavor, liked by the whole family. Great cold or at room temperature. I enjoyed dry whole milk as a child but a different brand ( KLIM and Dennia). Just great I could find something similar for my kids!

Perfect for international trips. Play around with how much water to put and you'll find your perfect consistency. Also the taste won't be that great, so please grab some flavoring to add to the milk. I purchased a chocolate drink power to mix with this milk.

I always disliked powdered milk. A few years ago i spent several years doing a bicycle tour and decided i would have to bite the bullet and revisit powdered mik. Never heard of Nido till riding across the middle of nowhere Texas. Little town had a can that said "whole milk". In disbelief i bought a small can and tried it in my cereal the next morning. I was co.pletely amazed at how much it tasted like milk. Much better than any other pwdered milk i had ever tasted. It even tasted great when i dipped my Oreos in it. I absolutely love this product and i am a milk officianado. I drink 3 or 4 gallons a week but am tired of paying the exorbent prices on top of the gas to get it two or three times a week. Will be stocking up on Nido Fortfacado to fill in between trips to buy regular whole milk. The "why you like it area needs to add one more reason. The reason i got into it. Ease of storage and transportability.

Saves me so much money, I no longer waste milk or have to spend extra when I run out of milk. Has a great taste (believe it or not, tastes better than fresh milk), I can use it to cook with, bake with, and only need to mix just what I need. No more spoiled milk in fridge or running out. Great product!!

Some reviews complain that this whole milk powder has too much sugar...milk in it’s natural state has natural sugar in it! Look at a carton/jug of milk to verify this statement. I like to dissolve a spoonful in my coffee before adding a bit of 1/2 & 1/2. The powder makes me need less 1/2 & 1/2 and the 1/2 &1/2 makes the coffee taste better than with just the powder. I like it better than nonfat dried milk. This is great to have on hand in case we need milk or to replace milk in a recipe. Hydrated, it is good to use in pudding, gravy, etc.

I highly recommend Nido for kids who've outgrown formula,who needs additional help in growth or drinks all the traditional whole milk in jugs. It's also extremely affordable and lasts a lot longer. Thank you for making something like this. It's very similar to formula and it also has vitamin d added like toddler formula only for older children as well as adults. We'll be buying it for years to come. It has also helped my daughter,6, with growth and weight.

I decided to try Nido because I live in a remote area and going to the store for milk isn't always convenient. I was shocked to discover how excellent this product is, and now I buy it exclusively. It tastes wonderful, it mixes very easily with water, and it packs a lot of nutritional value for not a lot of money. Definitely pleased to have found this.
