The texture is super nice and light and my face feels and looks moisturized after using it. The only thing I could see people not loving about this product is the smell. It definitely has a lot of fragrance in it which I don’t mind, but someone with sensitive skin or a sensitive nose might dislike. It’s a very fresh scent. I do think this has made my skin look nicer as I’ve been using it and will continue to use.

There is a slight scent but it isn’t overwhelming. I think I’m the summer this would be a great moisturizer. Unfortunately it is December/ January in northern Idaho where I live and it is very cold and dry. My skin is extra dry from the cold weather and this moisturizer wasn’t quite as hydrating as I needed. I think it will work great for about 8 months out of the year. I can’t wait to use this in the spring and summer it will be perfect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My skin gets extremely dry in the winter so I was a bit skeptical when I felt how lightweight the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen is, but it’s extremely moisturizing! On days that I don’t want to go through my full morning routine, I reach for this water gel for combined moisturizer and sun protection (so much so that it’s nearly empty). This gel is slightly fragranced with Neutrogena’s signature scent, lightly mixed either the smell of sunscreen, but I don’t find that I can smell the product after application. This lightweight moisturizer and sunscreen duo is great for lazy days or just combining products in my routine. I will say, since this gel is SPF 25, I use a different moisturizer at night. I really love this product and I will definitely be repurchasing it!

A little went a very long way on freshly washed skin, and the product absorbed quickly and easily. It didn't leave behind any sort of tacky feeling, nor could I 'feel' the moisturizer sitting on my skin. The moisturizer had the faintest hint of that sunscreen smell, but in a good way. After spending my days in city air, I understood the 'cityshield' part of the name - I didn't feel all of the air pollution sitting in my pores like I normally will when I get home from work. I had already been using a different hydroboost moisturizer, so the switch was easy, and I will absolutely be finishing out this jar now that my trial period has ended!

I am a big fan of Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost line. I have been previously using their Hydro Boost Gel Cream and was excited to try the Water Gel instead. The water gel has a cooling feeling when applying it to my face. It does not burn when applied to dry spots — something that I find happens with other brands. It also works wonders on dry spots and hydrated my skin even in the winter time. I also love that this product has SPF. The Gel Cream I use does not, so I only apply it at night. Because of the SPF in this Water Cream, I am able to use it in the morning for sun protection. I want to mention also that my skin is a bit sensitive. This Water Gel does not irritate my skin or cause breakouts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The smell has a slight lingering sunscreen scent, the texture is gel-like just as described in the title, and doesn't feel heavy or sticky on the skin. it blends into skin easily and the scent isn't too overpowering for me but still has a noticeable scent . I feel like the packaging being a tub makes it harder to apply and isn't as sanitary in comparison to a stick or a squeeze tube. Application and being travel friendly would be more convenient due to more compact packaging. I didn't feel a difference in my skin texture after using it and I also couldn't really test how accurate the SPF would work since it's been gloomy and quite overcast where I live during the winter months.

It doesn't give you the best SPF, but it does its job for the winter, especially if I'm going out after work when it's dark out. However, minus one star for how liquidy this is. It is rather watery so it doesn't give as much of the moisturizing factor. I personally like a bit thicker moisturizer/SPF.
