Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Setting Powder - 0.45oz

This powder is excellent for dry or mature skin! I’m glad to see a trend of brands coming out with hydrating setting powders, it makes a huge difference in the appearance of texture and if you have any flakiness from dry skin. It’s also affordable and carried in most drug stores. A+++!

It is still pretty simple to use a few tap off some in the lid. This works great to soak up oil, especially on the T zone. It is easy to blunt so that you don’t look super white.

I think the powder does its job of setting my makeup for the day. However, this powder also claims to not dry out the skin, which was untrue in my experience.

For that reason, I was excited to try one with ingredients more suited to my skin type. And I’m happy to report that I was pleased with the performance! It mattified the areas I needed it to but I did notice a difference in the appearance of my skin after use compared to traditional setting powders. Setting powders usually make my skin look cakey but there was less of that with this product. It wasn’t anything that I found super blurring (I’m not convinced there will ever be a powder that gives my skin that effect) but it was an improvement on my usual powders. I will purchase another once I run out of this one!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always loved Neutrogena’s hyaluronic acid line and I was surprised to see that they came out with a loose powder version/makeup version from the line. It comes in an average size like regular loose powders and will last me a long time even with everyday usage. It comes in a cap container with a twist and lock type of mechanism and I love/appreciate this so much because my other loose powders are hard to travel with as they don’t have this type of lock. It was just a cap and so the powder can easily slip through from the holes onto the cap and then out. But with this lock mechanism, it keeps the powder in place and more convenient for traveling. It’s a light skin colored powder and I used a powder puff to blot the powder onto my face. It blended onto my skin very easily and mattified my skin, so I’m not sure if I felt the hyaluronic acid properties, as that’s supposed to keep my face more hydrated and replenished. So I didn’t notice that effect. It also made me break a bit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is just perfect for summer. It blurs the skin and makes it look matte but it is not drying. It has skin loving ingredient like hyaluronic acid which is a plus. It does not have any fragrance. Overall, a good one.

This isn’t my all-time favorite setting powder, but it definitely works well and earns a solid 5 stars for performance and value. It sets makeup nicely without feeling heavy or looking cakey, and doesn’t look dry on my undereyes. I have dryyy skin, and this feels lightweight and breathable. It doesn’t settle into fine lines or cling to dry patches, which is a huge plus. The packaging is easy to use and closes, sealing the powder off and preventing it from spilling in the container. It is great for everyday wear. While I may keep trying other powders out of curiosity, this one is a reliable go-to that I’d happily repurchase.

This Loose Setting Powder is very fine and feels soft. In turn, it helps my face look smoother and softer! I have dry skin so I don’t need a setting powder because I am oily but I do need a setting powder in order to keep my makeup where it is without sliding down my face. In also appreciate that it helps cover some of my pores and imperfections that my skincare and makeup may have missed but (MOST IMPORTANTLY!) It does not cause my face to look caked on with makeup and it doesn’t settle into wrinkles to make them look more noticeable. The hyaluronic acid boost of ingredients does a good job at maintaining my look and not causing my skin to look even more dry.

I didn’t notice that it blurred too much as my larger pores were still visible. I absolutely love that It incorporates hyaluronic acid…. any skin care incorporated into makeup I am here for it but I definitely wish it had a little bit more blurring power!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am actually pretty impressed with this powder. First of all they have a fair amount of product in one package. The powder is fine and goes on like any other powder. I have used a brush and a powder puff, both work great. They set my makeup well and makes my skin feels soft. It also takes away the shine for a few hours as well, it keeps my face from looking oily longer than the elf halo glow. My only complaint is that the twist on the inside to release the powder is difficult to turn.
