Q: Can I use this shelf in my shower?
A: If it is going to get wet, probably not the best application. It would not install in a plastic or tile surface If you have a drywall surface, you could install it, but the nails are not rust-proof. The shelf itself is aluminum and will not rust.

Q: Can the shelf be cut to shorten it? ie. Purchase a 24" shelf then cut it to 22.5"? If so, what type of blade is recommended?
A: You will need a large chop saw, about 12" diameter blade. You might try a band saw but the cut will not be clean.

Q: I'm only seeing an option to adjust length. How do I adjust desired depth? I'm interested in the 6" deep shelf
A: Hi, for the 6" Depth, look for the shelves that are "Reversible (link below)." That depth is 5.875" deep with the extruded safety lip, and 6.375" deep when "reversed" so the top shelf is seamless. Feel free to email info@hangmanproducts.com for more info. Thank you! https://www.target.com/p/no-stud-needed-reversible-floating-shelf-simple-mount/-/A-85183832?preselect=83827261#lnk=sametab

Q: how long are the nails? i'm trying to figure out how far into the wall they need to go.
A: Hi Chloe, the nails are 1" long. The bracket has pre-drilled holes which guide the nails at a specific angle. You will hammer them in completely until they meet the bracket. They will then pierce the drywall paper which gives the shelf its strength. Hope this answers your question! If not, feel free to call our offices at 818-610-0487 M-F 8-5 Pacific, or email info@hangmanproducts.com. Thank you!

Q: Can I use this on concrete walls? The nails look a little too small to hold up a shelf in concrete.
A: Hi Chelsea, no, the nails are only good for drywall and paneling. If you email us directly at info@hangmanproducts.com, we can provide you with hardware that can work in concrete walls. Thank you!

Q: How do you remove it? The back of the hammer doesn't fit on the nail because of the bracket.
A: Hi Jenny, you can simply slide a butter knife or flat head screwdriver under the bracket and gently pry it. The bracket will lift out with all the nails.

Q: Has anyone tried hanging these with a command strip?
A: Please absolutely DO NOT HANG THIS WITH A COMMAND STRIP. The mount should be used as designed by installing the nails. It is easy to repair after with just a tiny bit of putty and paint. Sometimes even painting over the tiny holes is enough. Again, please, as the manufacturer of this product we absolutely would not recommend an adhesive installation. Thank you!

Q: When you reverse the installation of the shelf do you reverse the installatiion of the hanging cleat as well?
A: Hi Mark, no, you do not reverse the hanging cleat. The back of the shelf has extrusions that fit the cleat whether the shelf is in the "standard" or "reversed" position. The extruded lip slips onto the cleat from either direction. Thank you! Simple Mount Team

Q: what is the depth and width of the shelf? I'm trying to figure out if I can safely display items. wider than picture frames on it.
A: Hello, the width depends on the size you buy, but the inside shelf depth for the unit noted is 4.125". We have 3 different depths - the No Stud Needed Floating Shelf (4.125"), No Stud Needed Reversible Floating Shelf (5.875" depth when upright with safety lip, or 6.375" with smooth surface), and the No Stud Needed Photo Ledge, the narrowest at 1.75". We hope this helps you make your decision! Best wishes, The Simple Mount Team
