It seems that the pad will keep it from wearing out also. I’ve had the cheaper pads before, but this is so, so much better. I highly recommend getting the best pad.

Rug Pad works reasonably well, but corners may need to be tacked down. I ordered a 6X9 Pad for a 6X9 rug; it was perfectly sized for the length, but about 4 inches too long on the width - but easy to cut down to size. Our biggest complaint is that it is extremely chemical-smelly. I would recommend only ordering it when you can have windows open for a few weeks.
