Q: Has this product changed? I ordered what’s pictured, but it arrived with “new” printed on the box and no longer says “Glide threader floss” just “threader floss.” It’s also made of cotton like fibers that look like they’ll snag on my wire! Very annoying!

A: Exactly what I found. Wish I would’ve read this before I purchased. The packaging is nice with a colored threader on each end and multiple contained in each envelope. But the floss itself snags and makes fingernails on chalkboard sounds and feels terrible between my teeth.

It had higher ratings for the PREVIOUS style of flossing but they have changed it sometime in August 2024. Now the new flossing is completely useless. There are no good reviews since August 20th…therefore, it tack the version onto the previous ratings are MISLEADING! Shame on you Oral B.

This "new" design is awful. I have been using the original ones for probably a decade, and it was the only floss/threader that wouldn't shred or get stuck in my permanent retainer. This is as if they got a bunch of cotton balls, shredded them up, and pulled them into a string shape and glued plastic bits on the ends. It feels completely ineffective, gets stuck and more shredded up and I hate that there are 5 wrapped around a little cardboard, rather than single use packs. Those were essential for travel for me and on the go use. This product is a waste of money for me and more frustrating to use and useless for what floss is supposed to do.

Idk why on God's green earth they thought changing the old floss to the new cotton like floss would be a great idea! It breaks and shreds, getting parts stuck in my lingual retainer.

Recently the company changed the packaging of this product. Aside from putting 5 flosser in one packet for a more efficient packaging, BUT they also CHANGED the floss itself to a material now that shreds easily and gets stuck especially between tight teeth and is very hard to remove. NEVER happened to me before. AVOID!

This product is terrible. The actual floss string is freaking yarn and will break off in your teeth, and tear on braces and retainers. The only good thing is the actual threader piece itself, but that negated due to how terrible the floss itself is.

I did not realize that the Glide Threader had changed, I purchased the new floss and was disappointed, The actual floss is thin. It get tangled very easily. I returned it to the store and got a refund, The "old" threader and floss in the individual packages was a great product. Why did you change it for something that is cheaply made and that does not work? I won't waste my time or money buying this "new " product.

Sadly, this product is not as described in the description, despite high hopes. The tufted part shreds around ortho, and lingual retainers. I find it difficult to handle in terms of how thin the tip is. It’s upsetting that oral B has chose this product to replace their previous floss threader with this. This reminds me of a lesser quality of super floss. I don’t recommend this product to offices when trying to clean under ortho, lingual retainers, or even bridges.

These new floss threaders are absolutely horrible. I am a practicing hygienist who used the old, individually wrapped ones with glide floss religiously, and on almost every patient. The new ones come 5 to a pack, which I can not grab quickly during an appointment without risking cross contamination. They are flimsy on the ends and won’t slide through tight interproximal areas. If you do get them through, they end up shredding in the patients mouth because they are now expandable floss, instead of glide. The old ones were amazing and did exactly what I needed them to. I will not buy or use the new ones, they are a waste of time and money!

I used the old version of this floss for 7 years and absolutely loved it. I had no idea they changed it and I ordered my usual pack. Well, unbeknownst to me, they changed it and it's like a cottony type material that's awful now. You should have to give people a heads up when ruining products they've been buying forever. It's not cheap floss. Refund please.

I did like the green thread feature, but as soon as it was time to floss, the thread would either get stuck between teeth or rip in half…then leading to floss still being stuck between my teeth. Overall it led to my permanent metal retainer breaking because I had to dig out giant clots of broken up floss. This $7 purchase is going to overall cost me probably triple digits to fix🙃

Purchased this product for several years for my bridge and it was absolutely the best on the market. New product is horrific. I have tossed the box away; more hamful than good. Please bring back the original version!! My expensive dental work is suffering because of this change.
