A small amount of the face wash lathers up my face and neck. Nice clean feel. The smell is invigorating but a little masculine.
Nice but not for dry skin

Smells great and gives that squeaky clean feeling on the skin! However because of the essential oils in the formulation it dried out my dry zones on my combination skin. Might continue to use this product, targeting my areas that are more oily (cheeks/nose) and avoid my drier areas (chin and forehead) but don't know if I want to expend the effort of using two different washes. Won't be repurchasing because I need something for my whole face not because it was a bad product.

Target shipped me an unsealed, unwrapped, unappealing version of this that looked nothing like the photo online or the product I’ve seen and purchased in person. It was dingy and frankly appeared counterfeit. I requested a refund based on those discrepancies, photographed them, and sent it back but they denied it, essentially stealing $30+ dollars from a longtime customer who’s never made excessive returns. Not sure how I could send back anything more than what they sent me. 😡Beyond disgusted.

I usually do not write reviews. I have extremely sensitive skin and have tried a lot of drug store face washes as well as high end face washes and so far I am on day 4 and am loving this face wash. The tiniest amount goes the longest way (seriously). The cleanser foams up and rinses off well leaving no residue. It does not sting my under eyes or anywhere more sensitive. Highly recommend trying this product if you are in the market for a new face wash.
Nice Product- Unattractive new design

I do like this product! But I am so tired of companies changing their packaging and design ALL the time. Just leave things alone for once. I liked the old design. This was one of my yearly Ulta Gifts which was nice. Pros: You only need a small amount. Just a dime sized amount lathers well. Luxurious feel. Rinses clean. Not drying. Con: Just do not like the ugly new bottle and brown color of the plastic. Looks cheap now!
Love, love this cleanser!

One tiny pea sized drop will clean your entire face. I am not kidding you! It leaves my skin feeling so clean, but not overly drying. Again, if you use too much — you may feel two sizes too small, but stick to one pea sized amount and it'll do the trick.

I love the frothy pearly whipped texture. I love the herbal tea scent. I love how clean I feel afterward. I love the squeeze tube. I have loved this for decades. Two warnings. Well three. This will not be good for dry or sensitive skin. And never get it in your eyes.

I have used this product for many years. I have occasionally tried others, but, keep coming back to Checks and Balances. I've never had any issues with it.
Say what they will but this formulation has changed

I have been using Origins products for decades. I am a male. This was one of the first Origins products I began using in their product line, so I am VERY attuned and knowledgeable as to the scent, texture and results of this cleanser. After contacting Origins several times about these changes, they were dismissive, not concerned and gaslit me about the changes. Most of the changes began after they introduced the Checks & Balances™ Polishing Face Scrub.
Now, the Checks and Balances cleanser no longer had the clean and refreshing scent it once did. The texture of the cleanser has also changed dramatically as apparently they use the same production line for both the cleanser and the polishing scrub. The result of this is now that the Checks and Balances cleanser, still contains the polishing granules that should ONLY be in the Polishing Face Scrub.... NOT the cleanser. The texture of this cleanser has also changed. Now it is more of a greasy cream texture compared to the light more foamy texture it once had. This as well began after their introduction of the Polishing Scrub. So while they could have 2 products with different purposes and formulations, they changed the formula of the trusted and extremely highly rated original Checks and Balances to align with what they needed for the Polishing Scrub. This is a cheap cost saving measure, not a quality measure. Yet again another company whose main concern is cost cutting and not quality.

This foamy fresh cleanser is by far my new favorite cleanser. I love how it leaves my skin feeling so clean and revitalized but not dried out. I use it morning and night

This is my favorite face wash. The only one that clears my skin i have to have it. It does burb your eyes bad if you accidentally open your eyes. This is the best fave wash out of the hundreds I've tried.

This face wash lives up to its name; it creates a frothy foam when applied. When applied, it feels very soapy and slippery. But it washes off quickly and leaves your face and hands feeling clean and fresh. It's unscented too as far as I can tell, which is a plus!

Bought this product 5 years ago as a beauty steal and I have loved it ever since. This frothy face wash works great for removing makeup and leaves my face feeling clean and moisturized - especially during the winter months.

I love this, leaves my face feeling squeaky clean. I've been using for at least a week now and I've not broken out. It smells really good but you may not like if you don't like essential oils or have sensitive skin.

This is unfortunately my second time purchasing this (I forgot how terrible it makes my skin feel and bought it again). This is super stripping of natural oils and makes my skin very tight and dry.

I have extremely dry skin that gets stripped very easily so it's hard to find a skin friendly face wash. This one was so nice I bought the big bottle. It lathers well, removes make up and doesn't dry my skin out.
