A: The above answer is incorrect. The slots are 5 1/4 inches long. They barely fit Pepperidge Farm and Arnold bread slices, but you can make it work.

Bought this for our new camper as our original Oster was lost in the hurricane flooding. The price for this toaster says it all. This is a VERY cheaply made toaster. Feels like plastic. Moves/slides all over counter very easily when touched. Slots are visually shorter than our previous Oster and some, if not most, bread slices are going to be too long for those slots. Also, when pushing down the lever, sometimes it tips over LOL. It WAS only $29 and got us through our first camping weekend sooo.... the 2 stars are for the evenly toasting of the *half-slices* of bread. We will now pay a bit more for the better quality Oster toaster and we will most likely donate this one.

I waited and kept coming back to this toaster. I do not regret getting it. For one I can defrost and toast my toaster strudels without burning them. Brioche bread toasts perfect and my super thin 35 calorie bread that gets crispy in the toaster at work is perfect in this machine. It toasts evenly every time. I love it, heck my brother who is very picky about kitchen appliances wants one. It's a great toaster.

First, I will say I was super excited to be receiving this. It came at the perfect time. It has a setting for toasting frozen items, bagels, you can cancel the toasting, it did take me a while to get used to the settings as it does toast extremely well. Most of the time I don’t even need to have it above 2 even though it goes to 7. Which is higher than my previous one went to. Plus, it is so pretty it wipes down and shines beautifully. I love the stainless steel.

The toaster has 5 heat settings. I prefer my toast to be toasted at 2 or 3, they turn out just crispy enough while soft on the inside. There is also a setting for bagels and frozen bread. The lights make it look modern and slick. It is easy to clean and it operates pretty quietly. I also appreciate that it is a pretty compact toaster, since I have a limited space on my kitchen.

This toaster only works well with a thick bread. The problem is that the sides don't move inward when you push down the lever to toast so only one side of the toast is getting the heat. Beautiful toaster and easy to use, but you have to put something thick in it to work properly.

I had one of these that did uneven toasting. One side was perfect, and the other side was barely toasted. Because of the Oster brand, I thought this was a fluke, so I bought another of the same model. And, the problem existed for this one, too! I cannot recommend this product.

See the pictures. I get the same results no matter what settings I use--half burnt/half untoasted. Even at 2/7, the lower portion burns a lot. It has never produced even passable results, and I've wasted almost as much bread and bagel as I've been able to stomach after breaking off the charred pieces. I know it's cheap, but this shouldn't even be sold at all.

I got a new toaster because the old one doesn't toast evenly. This new one doesn't either! You can see that the elements in the middle part aren't as bright as the edges. Hence, burnt edges and less toasted middle of the bread. Maybe it's just defective as most of the ratings are good, which is why I bought it!

The slots are only long enough for square bread and not pan bread. It only toasts half the bread and feels cheap and light even though it’s metal and more expensive than others.
