The Owlet Dream Sock and Camera Duo offers peace of mind to many parents by monitoring their baby's vitals and providing clear video and audio. However, guests have reported frequent connectivity issues, challenging setup processes, and limited customization options. While the sock is praised for its reliability, the camera's performance and app functionality have received mixed feedback.

I just ordered a new baby monitor because I’m over the problems I’ve had with my Owlet Monitor/Sock. It is constantly disconnected. I’m going on 10 hours of my camera being disconnected; whats the point of having a baby monitor that doesn’t monitor?! This happens consistently. It seems to be very particular about what kind of WiFi you have. Everything else in my house is not having a problem with my WiFi except the Owlet products. The sock has a lot of connectivity issues as well, and sets off an alarm when my son is just about sleep to tell me it’s disconnected. Super fun at 3am. He hasn’t worn it in a month because it hardly works. For $400 I expect more. Don’t waste your money.

The sock works ok. It can disconnect often and wake baby if they are close to the base station. The camera sucks. Everytime I open the app, the camera feed needs to load. If it is showing feed right away, it will "glitch" and show a new feed basically indicating that the original feed you were looking at was actually the camera feed paused while it's loading.

We purchased new Owlet socks for our kids in 2018 and 2020 and loved them. I heard the very first version was glitchy, but we were happy with our 2018 and 2020 versions. Then came this sock. Oh my goodness has this thing become terrible. The sock disconnects when the baby is 10 feet away. If you dont have your phone on you you have to go up to it to tap it to get it to *temporarily* stop playing the music, which will wake your baby up. The app is near useless. Our once favorite baby product is now our most hated. We used to buy this product for all of our friends who had kids because we loved it so much. NEVER AGAIN. I’ve even texted the more recent friends to apologize and let them know I did not know the most recent version was like this. Owlet owes all purchasers of this sock a refund and an apology.

This was the biggest waste of money out of everything we bought for my son. This was my first purchase and I unfortunately didn’t open it until well past the return deadline. I never got to use the sock because it won’t connect to our WiFi. The camera is always disconnecting, so that’s worthless as well. Save yourself $400 dollars and get anything else.

Do not buy the camera. I got the duo bundle today and I spent 2 hrs trying to get the camera to stop saying “pairing”. I will be returning this bundle and just buying the sock.

The sock work great. The camera is terrible. I was able to connect once and image is bad. After having to change the WiFi name (the whole WiFi 2.4 thing is a nightmare) it never connected again. Currently waiting on customer support. I read that this can happen a lot when it disconnects from WiFi. If that is the case is better just to trash the camera lol. I just spent 1h troubleshooting with customer support, can imagine to do that every time it disconnect from WiFi. Sock seem to work fine, just have no customization of notification (you can't change anything). Used 1 night, worked fine. You do get a loud noise if you pick your baby up due Bluetooth impairments (they do warn you on the app that you shouldn't hold your baby with the sock on which give you one more thing to do on night feeds. I will try turning off the base in the app next time and see how it works.

Video is pretty clear when the app actually works, I have to constantly see if there are updates, or unplug the camera and play back in to get the video to work it’s always offline. The sound on the app does always work either it would not buy this again.

We love the owlet dream sock but I’m dropping a star for the WiFi camera. I really wish we had just bought the sock on its own! The camera loses connectivity often (we have good WiFi and don’t have issues with other items falling off network) and there was a significant delay…I could hear my baby crying and they still looked like they were sleeping on the WiFi camera. The owlet dream sock gives us excellent peace of mind and we have not had issues with it alarming unnecessarily.

Needs a dual band router 2.4ghz and 5ghz in order to connect sock and camera. Kept getting a connection error. Called the support center which weren’t much help. Will be returning this product. For the price I expected a much smoother install
Get a nanit instead.

The camera quality was terrible. The sock wasn’t worth it. The audio had feedback if in the same room which poses a problem when you are walking through your room when your baby is napping and you forget the audio is on your phone. This is so overpriced for what you get. I returned it and got the Nanit instead which monitors the exact same things as this sock, and has way better quality.

After using this for 2 months, I would only rate it okay, which is very disappointing for the price. The camera has a lag time and you can’t really hear when speaking through the microphone. The sock was the whole reason I purchased this brand but it’s really fallen short of expectations. I have issues nearly every night with the alarm going off for placement issues or unable to get a reading. It’s extremely frustrating and I’ve lately stopped using the sock altogether.
They did too much and ended up bad

I had such high hopes for the Owlet monitor. The pros are that the sock monitors heart rate, and the camera can be mounted to the wall. But the cons outweigh the pros by far. 1. Since it works on WiFi, if the internet goes out so does the baby monitor. And in the app, the video feed often freezes until I close out the app and restart it. There's a long lag time with the audio as well. 2. The monitor is not portable. It has to be mounted to the wall, and connected to WiFi so I can't just unplug it and take it with me somewhere. 3. Don't expect to be able to use the microphone feature to talk through the camera. The volume is super low and hard to understand through it. 4. As for the sock, I expected it to be an SpO2 monitor, but it instead gives an average O2 reading over 10 minutes which I'm not a fan of. 5. The dock for the sock alarms if the sock falls off, which happened with every diaper change so if it's in the nursery it startles the baby and if it's in the bedroom it wakes up my spouse. It also lights up and I don't think you can turn off the light. Overall, there are so many features in the app that aren't necessary, they've over complicated this monitor system, and I much prefer the $60 simple video monitor I got off Amazon.
Over all super disappointed

I dislike that we can’t set a babysitter up on it. I dislike that we couldn’t silence alarms on my husbands phone, when my Husband is at work. I don’t like that it doesn’t stay connected. I don’t like that the temperature and the humidity measurements are not accurate at all. I don’t like their customer service. I don’t like when I requested follow from Costumer service they can only do email. I called because I’m dyslexic and ADHD so email is my lest effective way to communicate. They said that doesn’t matter they only follow up via email or chat.

Do not recommend!! Buy the sock separately so you don’t pay for this awful camera system. We LOVE the sock, wish we bought that alone. You have to use your phone/the app to monitor the camera and what an awful system. Using your phone drains your battery and it’s really bad for your phone to constantly have it in use while charging it. Connection is awful and it constantly cuts out or the picture freezes. Cannot hate this camera system more!
Must have!

We loved the peace of mind the sock have after our son was in the NICU and plan on using it for baby number 2 as well. The camera is amazing and we love that we can see his stats (breathing, heart rate, room temp) and him when we’re not home on a date night, etc.

I absolutely love the dream sock. I am a high anxiety mom and the sock gives me a peace of mind and I’m able to sleep. I’m not crazy about the monitor. The picture is not great quality on my iPhone or my husbands android. I appreciate the convenience of having the monitor link to your phone but if you don’t have the screen pulled up then you don’t hear your baby crying. I use an old android as a full time monitor so I can always have it pulled up even if I’m using my phone.
