Bought these when I moved to a humid climate last year I hang them or clip them on my canopy frame just inside the perimeter where they are sheltered, but still potentially exposed to the elements. Last summer I brought them in every night, but I got lazy this year. They were out in a rain storm last night. They still purr! I love the timer because I tend to forget things. I thought for sure a little bit of humidity and an accidental drop of rain might knock them out, but they are still doing great. Be careful with the hook. I accidentally broke one trying to get fancy, but the clip on save me! I don’t recommend leaving them out in the elements! Just wanted to give an example of how dependable they have been for me! I’ve never done a review before I was excited about this one because they deserve it!
