PetSafe Dog and Cat Pawz Away Adjustable Pet Barrier - Black

I love this product. I use it to keep my doodle out of the kitchen and my cockapoo away from the Christmas tree. I just wish I could find a product like this that has the capabilities to set different channels. I would love to put one near the doodles kennel and set the cockapoos collar to a separate channel from the doodles collar to keep her out of it because she likes to pee occasionally in the doodles kennel.

This is my second indoor pet barrier. The first one lasted a couple of years and for no reason stopped working now. This one has stopped working and it’s under two years. It’s a great product when it works, but the lifespan is very short and at this price, you might wanna look elsewhere if you want something to last a lot longer. Very sad because there’s no reason why it should’ve stopped working.

I have purchased 3 of these collars and they work well until they need batteries and then the consistently break. Absolute piece of junk.

After reading other reviews it seems they need to revisit the durability of this product. When I bought the system the battery tabs had to be rebent inwards to hold the batteries in the proper position to keep them connected. Within a week of purchasing the product My dog snagged the webbing on a scratchy surface outside and unraveled the ENTIRE LENGTH OF WEBBING. I am currently trying to get ahold of support to see if I can get a new collar strap or something. We will see what is said.

This is a nice product but it would be better if it recharged via cord/ outlet. Changing batteries all the time is no fun!

I was really excited about this product, unfortunately the collar stopped working. It only beeps now, doesn’t shock. Didn’t even last a month

I have gone through 2 collars with this set as it seems they are poorly made. Appear to have issues with battery contacts within the collar, as it will intermittently work/not work. The functionality of this product is good when the collar works though.

Love this system, worked for our dog the first day!

I got the PawzAway collar for my 2 Great Danes because I had moved to a different house and there were 3 small carpeted areas I did not want them on (they have their own carpet I can just throw in the wash). The first day they learned very quickly were not to go. The second day, I woke up to one on my sofa that, of course, was on the carpet! I tested her collar and it beeped but did not “correct”. I called the customer service line and the kindest person I’ve ever spoken to in customer service anywhere was very helpful and sent me a replacement collar expedited. Both collars have been working great ever since.

This does not work. We followed all of the directions and the shock is only intermittently delivered. Do not purchase.

This product worked beautifully for the first five weeks it was in use with my puppy. Then it seemed to stop working. I don't know if it was the unit that emitted the sensor or the collar around my puppy's neck, but my puppy was no longer confined kitchen and family room like I wanted her to be. When I picked up the sensor unit and held the collar in my hand, it buzzed me like it was supposed to, but for some reason it was no longer effective when around her neck. Puzzled, confused, and disappointed.

I have one of these colors for my feline but please be aware order the collar with the silicone or rubber collar as the fabric one your pet will eventually shred with their claws . Stay very vigilant with the batteries and placement of the node be aware of that your pet will periodically test different areas to look for weaknesses in the barrier.

Products worked excellent! Our dogs are finally staying off of our furniture so we can actually use it.

My cat now keeps away from my parrot's cage as long as he's wearing the collar. I had to adjust the range to get the best coverage, but it works well. The Scat mat is used on top of the cage at night when he's not wearing the collar. The nylon strap is thick and rough, so it's causing my cat's fur to thin out a bit. My cat's neck is so small that 'doubling' the nylon strap would make it hard to handle and get good contact.

Works great, pup no longer goes upstairs and stays out of formal area even without collar. Only took a week for desired results.

I bought one and it worked very well to keep my cat from counter surfing we loved it but then it stopped working suddenly, it only worked for about 3 weeks. I held on to it for a while and got new batteries hoping that was the issue but didn’t fix anything. I contacted pet safe and they sent me a new one but I had to pay for old one to be shipped back which I didn’t think was fair since it was clearly defective. The new one did not work at all, it beeps but the “correction” is so mild my cat laughs and doesn’t care. We checked it on our arm and the old one used to give a good correction shock but this new one barely even tickles. I wished it worked better, I love the concept of it but it’s quite pricey for it to not work:(

The product is very straight forward and the step-by-step instructions are easy to follow. The range of the disc is what proved too challenging for us. No matter what setting we used, we either got too much, or not enough, signal. Either would have proved counterproductive for keeping our four legged friend off the countertops. Worked with very friendly and helpful customer service for an easy return. Per Safe are great people to deal with; very jealous of those for whom this product did work!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I highly recommend this product if you're trying to train your pets to not get into things or onto furniture. The collar isn't uncomfortable or too heavy around the neck.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was hesitant that the barrier would work on my 2yr old Pit but IT DID!! I've always had trouble with her wanting to chew on things or get into the garbage but not anymore. The system came with everything needed and a training guide to explain on how to use it. I really like that it wasn't intended to punish them severely but mainly to get their attention. The barrier looks like a disk and you can place it anywhere you need, to keep your pet away from. It says its intended for pets 5lbs. and up and that the signal can be received from 12 ft. away. With my dog being full size, I adjusted my signal to 5ft. thinking it would be a stronger signal. I'm not sure if it was but it worked so no complaints from me. After putting her collar on her and setting up the disk, I walked her close enough to get a beep several times. It didn't take long and she learned not to get close to it. After about 2 weeks of using it, I can say she no longer gets in the garbage or chews on things. The box says INDOOR barrier but I have a wraparound front porch and last summer she destroyed my outdoor cushions. After getting new ones, I put the disk in a a flower pot and placed it close to the furniture and as soon as she got within 5ft. of it, she heard the beep and left the porch. I'm so glad to have found something that will help protect my things from my pet. This will help you greatly, when you need to keep your pet out of things and teach them to leave things where they are. You can't Go wrong with this easily assembled training barrier.
